Thanks for the feedback! Pricing wise, we try to strike a balance between the work it requires to make and how long we will be supporting it. And as with the rest of our catalogue, HINDER will be supported and fine tuned with minor (not-payed) updates for the coming years.

As for the name, we were looking for something synonymous to "Delay", and "Hinder" had a nice ring to it. So I wouldn't consider it any more negative than delay, but that's a personal take I guess :D Hopefully it'll spark your creativity rather than Hinder it!

Thank you so much, we're honored

Not yet, but if enough people request it, we might include it in a future update. Did you have anything specific in mind or any further feedback about it's current theme?

I love your Granulizer, I bought it upon release and I like the ethos of your company, but respectfully, you don’t understand the meaning of the word hinder. There is only a negative connotation to hinder because it is intentional. Perhaps it’s silly, and I love BBD delays, but I just can’t spend €40 on a plugin with such a negative connotation in the name.

I feel like we're feeding a troll here, but I'll bite regardless. One of the most popular saturation plugins is named "Decapitator". This is because... well, most people in the world do not experience decapitation in their lifetime and live to talk about it... Another alternative saturation plugin was titled "Abuser" before the developers renamed it. I can see why people had issues with that name, considering the alarmingly high amount of traumatic physical/sexual abuse statistics in the world; but "Hinder", on the other hand, holds such a light amount of negative connotation, that I barely see it as being in issue. The thought of it being seen as negative hadn't even cross my mind until you brought it into the discussion...

All right now I’m a troll. A happy user of their synth who praised them. Ok. Anyway, the definition is what it is, I shared my opinion about it, why, personally I have difficulties using a plugin with such a name. Decapitator actually makes sense of you think about what clipping actually is, and I suppose one can see hinder in that way too. I still think it’s a poor choice for a name.

I find the name amusing.

And I think the price is reasonable for a character delay. And it does have loads of character. Bought :)

Post

Ok, now I'm tempted to get it because of its name.

Seriously though, quite interesting plugin.
Are this plugin, and by the way you other ones running natively on M1 machines?

Thank you for supporting us with your purchase of GRANULIZER 2, we appreciate it :)

Hopefully if you give HINDER a try, its positives will outweigh the name choice!

Ha! There's no such thing as bad publicity as they say!

HINDER is a universal build, so it runs natively both on Apple Silicon & Intel powered macs.

A couple of people asked us about it as well, so I'm assuming it's not clear enough. What would help you clarify that it's a universal build (including M1) outside of the Download section where it's stated?

edit: GRANULIZER 2 & INSTINCT are currently being updated to run natively on Apple Silicon as well.

It possibly could be specified under "Available for:" on the product page?

It is marked as universal binary 2 unless we are missing smth there..
It runs natively on M1, and soon there will be native M1 releases for the rest of our products.

This is a really nice BBD delay for something that isn't a full on circuit model. It sounds extremely close to my old Roland/Boss rackmount sampler delays in the "thickness" of the feedback loop and modulation of the delay line

One issue i am finding though is the wet dry and modulation depth knobs have really weird and almost useless scaling. The mod depth is comical at anything beyond a bit before 7 o'clock, and the wet dry seems to be almost all dry by about 5 o'clock on the knobs. What was the reasoning behind this cause it makes having a wet dry kind of pointless. Is it possible you could add some kind of button that makes mod depth more fine, so that there is more sweetspots in the lower part of its range? And just implement a regular equal power crossfade for wet dry?

Other than that, this is a very nice delay plugin
