Sample editing question

Hi everyone,
I've got some samples as one big wave file and I want to chop it up into multiple notes for editing.
I also want to save the root key and save the root key name in the sample name.
What is the best program to do this automatically so that I don't have to sit there and chop up every note?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use SoundForge. It has the tools to to work your sample sets. I also use Awave to build my sets with after processing in SF.

Waveknife is designed for this. Don't know weather it also detects the pitch, but chopping is catered for!ben_horwood wrote:I've got some samples as one big wave file and I want to chop it up into multiple notes for editing.
