That would actually be the only thing I really wished for: Some GUI refinements. The GUI isn't bad, and it's practical, but, it doesn't quite play in the league of Logic's and Cubase's.

Regarding ergonomics and stability, it all depends on how it will be integrated.
So far Presonus has been able to do things with intelligence and brilliance.
By precisely prioritizing ergonomics and the ease of use of their Daw.
So if this kind of tools/function is added, it will be done as for the rest with intelligence.
I am well aware that this addition will not appear in this version 6, but who knows...

Your guess is as good as mine. I would be surprised, but, who knows.Trancer wrote: Thu Sep 22, 2022 7:13 pm I am well aware that this addition will not appear in this version 6, but who knows...

S1 was better than Cubase at least 2 versions ago (if not more) - I dumped Nuendo in 2012 for it. Never looked back in anyway._leras wrote: Thu Sep 22, 2022 7:33 pm So do you think this new version will mean it's almost as good as Cubase??

I switched from Cubase LE/AI/Elements/Artist to Studio One some years ago. I "looked back" by installing Cubase AI a few times again, mostly to see what the new version is like, but, quickly remembered why I chose Studio One. It's by far the more streamlined and better experience for me.
That's why I'm a bit defensive about new feature additions. I want it to stay streamlined. I don't want it to become Ableton or Bitwig. A DAW has to retain its character. Otherwise I can just use another DAW to get the kind of experience I'm after. Or, if all DAW's are the same, I can just use any DAW. And have a complete clusterfuck experience.
I also don't want Studio One to become like Cubase, because there is a reason why I switched to Studio One.

I couldn’t tell you if it was better, but it was for me V4 much less cluttered and easier to use…let’s hope 6 doesn’t change that to much…I don’t mind if they add new features I don’t need, just don’t make it to cluttered and menu driven. It takes a lot more effort to make things context sensitive and intuitive to use (Bitwig are really good at this), not so much to just drop in a dozen new drop down menus or tabbed pages…

I could be wrong but I believe in version 6 it will possible to see ARA2 extensions like Acoustica and Spectralayers in the list of audio processing options when you right click on an audio clip. Right now you have to hold the alt key while dragging and dropping these plugins on audio clip in order to use them as a ARA2 extension. Only Melodyne and Revoice Pro are currently listed as ARA2 extensions when I right click an audio clip in S5. Anyone else has this problem?

At some point, it's gotta be more cluttered, if you want to force all the features in it. There's no other way, unfortunately. The only way would be to actually get rid of features at the same time. Which is probably not a very good idea.SLiC wrote: Thu Sep 22, 2022 8:23 pm I couldn’t tell you if it was better, but it was for me V4 much less cluttered and easier to use…let’s hope 6 doesn’t change that to much…I don’t mind if they add new features I don’t need, just don’t make it to cluttered and menu driven. People always argue like "Well... then they should just hide the feature somewhere, then it won't be cluttered!". Well, no, the features have to reside somewhere in the GUI, otherwise you won't be able to access them.
It's inevitable to get more bloat when you add features.

No. If you notice, the 6 is a slightly different shade of blue than the circles around it.Serhii Kot wrote: Thu Sep 22, 2022 5:07 pm Circles and 6 in form of a loop. Probably they added something like live looping, logic style I guess. I think this is a hint.
