I know that was meant ironically, but you can already produce Atmos with Studio One. I just released a video about how to do that. Link in the sig.

And 5.1 would not make a difference tbh. You need at least 7.1.2 to do things that Studio One is not already capable of doing.

Like Bitwig? ...I wonder how they would do that without racks?

I am a big time Bitwig user so anything clips or modulation will probably be wasted on me. I suspect they will find it hard to compete with Bitwig in that area, but may be a 'nice to have' for people who just dabble with that type of thing...but I suspect most 'experimental' musicians are leaning towards Bitwig or Live and most people see S1 (Cubase etc) as a more linear workflow with strong midi and audio editing.
S1 has racks in a way it just not implemented well at the moment.
Studio One // Bitwig // Logic Pro // Ableton // Reason // FLStudio // MPC // Force // Maschine

So you say that Studio One 6 will now be optimize to produce masters for 12" vinyl?

Why so specific? ;)

Yes, but do I get to keep the guitar?
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

That Fender's only impact (so far) is to allow Presonus to keep doing what they do best. The suggestion that we look forward to future integration between the brands will be made. I don't think CLAP will be part of it yet.
Considering the (relative) simplicity of it, adding CLAP should be a no-brainer. But maybe not in 6.0, but 6.1. Maybe. Hopefully.

I think the big 6 that appears in the video could be a hint?

Studio One is currently version 5.5.2... maybe this means version 5.6 is coming? :-o

Presonus only does mysterious announcement vids for major releases.

If this was a (maintenance) 5.5.6 - it would simply appear on the forums in a basic announcement.

This is definitely the arrival of a major version.

I think they were kidding. :D I mean, imagine the anti climax when they release maintenance update v.5.5.6, and announced it with such a dramatic trailer...

Would be great if they did that... and 5.5.6 only had a new splash screen... then 2 days later release v6

It's good I'm not a developer cause I would do stuff like that! :hihi:

Without specifics it's hard to argue but it is not something I've ever noticed, much less found a problem. Maybe you are too used to the way Cubase does things? Whereas I only used it for 18 months or so before switching to S1, so I didn't have time to get overly used to the workflow. If anything, learning Cubase first probably made it much easier for me to get into S1. The Cubase learning curve was huge but I was able to take a lot of it over to S1.

The one thing that is always pulling my leg are the inconsistencies between the contextual menus in the track list view and the mixer view. The contextual menu in the mixer view only allows you to add channels. If you want to add a track you need to use the contextual menu in the track list window. Makes some sense. However, the contextual menu in the track list view allows you to add channels. So, I can add channels in both contextual menus, but tracks only through the one in the track list view. This constantly throws me off. There are a lot of these little UI inconsistencies all over the place.

We may not be around to enjoy the Studio One 6 if Major Hurricane IAN path takes it any closer to hitting the Tampa Bay area. https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphi ... e#contents
I wish and hope the IAN does not hit Cuba too hard.
