Ok going pretty smooth now. Got the Oscs and WT editor done. Still have to do FX and Mod colors which will be tricky since I guess they should have different colors or shades at least.

The new theme editor is so much easier than the old method. :tu:

Going for something that will fit into Bitwig's color scheme:

I know you and I have had our many disagreements :).
But I really do like your skins (your Dark Orange for instance is my default skin in Dune 3).

This one is coming along nicely.

Thanks. :tu: I'll certainly release it when finished. Quite a ways to go yet.

Oh and I don't think we've had that many disagreements or any serious ones at least but then I just disagreed with you so........

Looking good. Very bitwig indeed.

Post

Thanks......... :)

Ok I've almost certainly missed something since there are so many values and to those people who like a lot of different colors for modulators and FX you'll have to tweak it to your personal taste so feel free. I like a simple single color scheme and I think a nice muted blue one might be next.

I noticed in the theme editor that the changes made in individual sections don't necessarily show up when searching in global mode so it can be kind of hard to keep track of things. Not sure if that's a bug or user error on my part.

If I've missed something or you think I should change something let me know. :tu:

Does it make sense to own and learn Pigments instead of Vital? Or does Vital for you covers all needs? I'm mostly after ambient pads and fx, not interested in presets at all.
Thanks.

Post

I much prefer Pigments tbh

What is good for you is bad for me. So, since there is a free non expiring Vital demo, and you said presets are not that important, why not giving it a try? ☺️

Yep, no issues there, demoing both right now, just there some learning curve for both and not sure that I'm kinda using them to full power as my little experience with them, mostly used Dune 3 before and found myself really enjoying it but bit limited in some aspects, nonetheless love Dune and use it for every thing I've made, but looking to extend horizons.
So, I'm just trying to get some thoughts from people who might be more proficient in both before pulling trigger.

Right click and clear it and it should go away.
You probably know about it, but in case you don't the CLAP version does not display correctly in Bitwig
Hmmm the CLAP version displays correctly here on two different systems both running Windows 10. Bitwig 4.3.8

Are you on a Mac?
Yes, Mac... Monterey
Yes, the same here with M1 Mac Monterey.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Depends on what you want. I have both. If I had to pick between them, I would pick Vital.

I prefer Vital because it uses less CPU and it also has some unique functionality. The Mod Curve option for every mod destination is useful for MPE presets. I also like the Text to Wavetable function. I mostly use it to make vocal sounds, choirs and the like. It's kinda unique. This is an example I made in Vital with the Text to Wavetable function.

If you want granular or additive synthesis, then Pigments has both and Vital doesn't. I'm not a big granular fan cause it always sounds like granular. So I don't use it that much. I prefer wavetables and FM for ambient type sounds. If someone is really into granular, then Pigments is the obvious choice of the 2.

Pigments or Phase Plant instead of Vital?
Windows 10 and too many plugins

I'd pick Vital of the 3
