Great Synth, but the Beta Version comes with only 2 Wavetables, Basic Waveforms and TX.There's no noise WT for instance.
Do the usual rulez regarding "samples" and "wavetables" apply? Are we allowed to import a noise wt consisting of n single cycles snap shots of noise? what is the maximum for n? 4?

Post

Wavetable import is perfectly acceptable.
It is not allowed to use the wavetables to play back samples for e.g. to load a kick sample or vocal phrase as a wavetable and play it back in a way which simply reproduces the original sound, like a sample player.

So I can use the files <windows user directory>\Documents\Vital\Factory\Samples\Noise\White Noise.wav, Brown Noise.wav and Pink Noise.wav and import them as wavetable, right?

Last Update: 29.10.2022

Details:
DAW: Bitwig 4.4.1
Ghost Versions: 0.3.7, 22 Instances
Sound: All sounds from Init, enjoying using the excelent FX Chain in Ghost which lead to way less additional FX used .
FX@Bitwig: Compressor, Dynamics, EQs, Delay+, Peak-Limiter, Tool
FX@Other: ISOL8, Meldaproduction MTremolo, Valhalla Supermassive

What the most respected an acclaimed critics say: Bass-heavy and non-intellectual at the same time. Play-full noise and rhythm patterns that need nothing but rhythm.

Ghost seems to be missing a lot of stuff I'm used to seeing on an FM synth, for example where are the envelope controls for the different operators?

You can assign envelopes arbitrarily in the FM-matrix. That means you can assign different envelopes for feedback, output and FM-amount to each individual operator.

Did you report those bugs to the dev elsewhere than on the KVR thread, e.g. by mail? He might not be reading here regularly.

Post

Env1 is hardwire to carrier's Amp, wich is pretty unusual for an Fm synth. You have to think about enveloppes as musical events not operator's enveloppes, in the end it does make sense imo. There are 6 enveloppes, (more will appear as you assign env3 to something destination).
