Thanks for the hint, mailed the report now!SeBaer wrote: Mon Oct 03, 2022 6:43 am Did you report those bugs to the dev elsewhere than on the KVR thread, e.g. by mail? He might not be reading here regularly.

does anyone know how to import a white noise successfully in Ghost?
i tried a couple of times but i get a melody-ish kinda sound instead of that punchy sound.
i put a long one, mid one, short one but it always becomes a melodical sound
without that punch. please help.

I managed a (IMO) decent noise sound by turning feedback on osc1 to 100. Try it and tell if it is sufficient.

Thanx, i'll do that.SeBaer wrote: Mon Oct 03, 2022 8:46 am I managed a (IMO) decent noise sound by turning feedback on osc1 to 100. Try it and tell if it is sufficient.

Just drag any modulator to any target ... it's the double arrow icons. You can drop them almost everywhere, i.e. the FM Matrix value boxes.zachy9 wrote: Mon Oct 03, 2022 5:31 am Ghost seems to be missing a lot of stuff I'm used to seeing on an FM synth, for example where are the envelope controls for the different operators?
Example
1.) Activate Osc B
2.) Set the value in the B modulates A box to zero
3.) Drag Env2 over the box. Drop if theres a little circle next to the box
4.) Now there should be a circle with number 2 next to the box
5.) Right now (assuming the number in the box is 0) you only hear OSC A
6.) Click the little circle next to the number box and drag, a popup shows up drag up and the popup shows the max amount that env 2 will modulate the FM Mod Amount
7.) Now you can set up ENV2 to a fast decay curve and voila you can hear the effect.
Keep in mind that you can even Modulate the amount of Modulation in the Mod-Matrix by quite the same way. In the mod matrix to the right there's the mod amount. You can for instance drag Velocity to it and set the amount of velocity in the same way as described above.

I used Vitals "White Noise.wav" sample and imported it as Wavetable. See some posts above, I have asked whether it's okay to do so or not. And the answer was, it is okay ...SeBaer wrote: Mon Oct 03, 2022 8:46 am I managed a (IMO) decent noise sound by turning feedback on osc1 to 100. Try it and tell if it is sufficient.
BTW speaking about Vital. Vital 1.5.3 Early Access and can be downloaded by all users. We should give it another try, may be OSC #165

This looks like a really promising synth. While a lot seems very intuitive, the most basic of all things I yet couldn't figure out: Polyphonic velocity for amp?! I have it on oscillator volume (which took me a moment to find the volume for one in the FM matrix, haha... desperately looking around in the oscillator gui for a while). But there it is not polyphonic!
I think, this may be my Rosetta stone, if I find out how to do that and would expect smoother sailing afterwards.
I've already had it stop working, too, after dialing around the RAT(io). Just stopped output of anything. Not too unusual, but well... should have a PANIC button. But that often won't help, if the host freaked out because of it (Cubase). Not sure if it was the host then, though?!
But, yeah, overall it feels rather wonderful with great potential! Even in the first seconds of playing with it you can sense the potential oozing out of it.

Does it work to apply the velocity to the volume envelope's modulation amount? I think you would need to turn the default envelope 1 assignment down to 0, then apply env1 (or other) as an amp mod. Then the modulation amount should be a target in the mod matrix. That might do it, but if it's not polyphonic when applying the velocity to modulate the osc amp directly, it may just not be a polyphonic modulator, which would be a bit of a letdown.Taron wrote: Mon Oct 03, 2022 1:06 pm This looks like a really promising synth. Honestly, I couldn't even find the envelope's modulation amount on the volume, hahaha... I'm happy for any hints!?
That was part of my problem to begin with.

If you adjust the env1 volume amount in the amp row at the bottom of the FM grid directly, I don't think you get a mod matrix entry for it. But, if you drag the envelope's modulator handle to the amp row, you should instead get a modulation that does appear in the mod matrix. Now you should be able to find the mod amount as a modulation target in the mod matrix tab.

Eh, have you tried any of it? Because I've already tried modulating that osc volume with velocity, which is the monophone velocity and I haven't found a way, yet, to modify the amount of modulation influence of an envelope. Can't find that for the life of me?!
My very first Beta feedback would be:
Offer Envelope Amount as target for modulating Envs. Would still be crude, but a start.
Ideally you'd have some sort of modulation mixing, which may be via the Macros, but I haven't gotten that far with it, yet.
OH, and- for heaven's sake- make it polyphonic!

The "bugs" I found actually were there due older installed version...
Somehow I managed to not overwrite with the new version while installation. My bad. Everything seems to be fixed already
Sorry for the confusion.

Really nice that you can actually use all the waveform modulators at once.... What for is the "freq" modulator?

You can model frequency accurate pitch curves. I dropped it on the "Tun" control at the left bottom of the oscillator panel for my bdr. You can do the usual BDR Freq-Drop Curve but with very fine control. Right now it's hard to dial in the exact values in the editor though. If you want to for instance end with the freq of your root key ... the editor is little too tiny for that. I have asked about dialing in the frequencies over there at Discord and Tré replied that he would probabaly find a solutioin for it.Hanz Meyzer wrote: Mon Oct 03, 2022 5:51 pm Really nice that you can actually use all the waveform modulators at once.... Yeah, although I wasn't listening for whether the results were polyphonic. I'll post some details when I get off work. In the meantime, ISTR someone posting the other day about where to find the modulation amount, either here or in the Ghost beta thread.Taron wrote: Mon Oct 03, 2022 4:39 pm Eh, have you tried any of it?
