First of all, I would like to say that no matter what, I really love this DAW, ever since it was T7)
I want to write here about some solutions in W12 Free, which seemed not very convenient for me personally, or about functions that I would really like to see in this great program.
Perhaps this will also be relevant for you, please write about it to see how many users think the same.
I will add to this list as I discover new ones.
1. When you change the length of an audio clip by holding the arrows on the edges ◄► and moving the mouse, listening to it is turned on and playback stops if it was previously started. Sometimes this is quite inconvenient. Can you please tell me if there is a way to disable this feature in the settings? I have not found such a switch
2. In W11, when editing a MIDI clip, selected notes were highlighted with a red stroke. But W12 doesn't have that. This makes it difficult to visually locate highlighted notes, especially when viewed at a large scale. I thought I could set this up in the new Color scheme Editor Window (it's a really cool feature that gives me the flexibility to customize my UI look), but I couldn't fix it there. Perhaps there is another way to do this?
2.1 Also, please explain to me how the Highlight current key in MIDI background function in Settings > Appearance > MIDI Note Color works. I can't see what changes when I turn it on or change the In/Out-of-key scale note
3. I would like to be able to see how many bars or seconds are in the marker or loop region, as in many programs that use the timeline. Sometimes this is a necessary and useful feature, but unfortunately I did not find it in W12 (also in previous versions). It would be really cool if it was added in the update.
Sorry if these questions have already been raised in other topics. If so, please give me a link.dysjoint wrote: Tue Oct 04, 2022 4:06 pm 4. By default some audio clips (including all renders it seems) have auto pitch and auto tempo enabled by default. Every time you alter the clip after that waveform seems to re-render the clip. I personally find this feature really annoying. I manually alter pitch and tempo a lot as necessary and hardly ever use auto-(x). It wastes a lot of time if you are render a lot though. Hopefully will be changed in a future update.
That's all for now, thank you very much for your attention!
