[Fixed in 4.4] Weird bug: latest "Spectral Suite" update not included in upgrade plan

When the new broke today I was shocked, too. But I think this is rather because it's breaking with a habit. When looking at it from 10.000 ft. not much has changed. They added a flagship product that includes features that not everyone needs. Very much like Ableton Live Suite just that, unlike Ableton, you can buy these features separately.
I can understand the anger and I think the communication was terrible. But for me Bitwig still is the my preferred DAW for a reason that hasn't changed. For sure I'll stay with the standard subscription although I must say that a price reduction for the upgrade plan would be nice right now.

usually a Bitwig update is generally well received, a few people complaining that there's no MSEG or ARA, the usual stuff, but this is a near universally rejected move by the user base. Generally people have begrudgingly accepted Bitwig's hybrid perp/sub model imo, but introducing add-ons is clearly a step too far for the majority of users. Edit: furthermore, the current is already confusing enough, I mean how many of us have tried to explain/correct people when discussing it with others and now it's about to get more complex with an extra premium tier.krazzmann wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 1:03 pm When the new broke today I was shocked, too. No other DAW really does it for me (I could crawl back to Live if I had to), so I'm likely to stick around but I do worry about the effect this might have on Bitwig's long term future, if people decide to vote with their wallets en masse, especially during these trying economic times.

I am not very impressed by their communication skills. I know they are a small company, but still...

the real questions here is =
would you bought bitwig studio if you knew this before ?
so pay for an upgrade plan and for the addons (keep in mind you must have the latest version )
so if your plan is running out you must pay twice
so i can understand this people here im angry too , but it just not
bitwig many company do this bad marketing move like twich or netflix , adobe and so on
but from bitwig it was not clear that we have to pay for addons
if you wanne say it clearly = the plan was a big lie
and they search for excuses to run their business mode
that its nor right

That's the key -- it's simply unworkable. I feel bad for them, I absolutely love what they've done with the DAW and was looking forward to its future. Everyone makes mistakes, but if they cling to this decision, I fear it will really hurt their financial position. The customer base has truly revolted on this one in a way they've never seen beforeozinga wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 1:06 pm Yes, I agree and what is the line for highly specialized feature and normal feature?

if i running a business like that
you can anticipate this things
loyal customers pay for the plan , the plan was expensive but also worth it
and now all they call it "extra special on instagramm" are not included ?
of course people are angry and they wonder ?
if you just see money you will act like that

I mean, this is basically 4.4 but not included in the update plan, isn't it?

If BW has financial problems it would have been better to make that clear, i would have been happy to donate for their existence, but this move is really unacceptable to me.

This is a Mal Paso from Bitwig.
They may come to regret this step.
Bitwig Studio was already expensive, now they've made the pricing situation even worse.
Is the company in trouble ?
Cash flow problems ?
I can see a reduction in the uptake for their Update Plans after this.
I hope their foot gets better ...
Having just shot themselves in it

Also, I just paid for an update plan last week, and now am asked for a special price of $79, when JRRShop has the
BITWIG STUDIO 12-MONTH UPGRADE PLAN + SPECTRAL SUITE for $199.
https://www.jrrshop.com/bitwig-studio-u ... tral-suite
So even if I wanted Spectral Suite, I'd have to pay more today than last week ($169 + $79 vs $199). At a minimum I would have waited to purchase the update plan. As mentioned bad communication and not taking care of their current users.

it better be around the corner and with the best MSEG ever implemented, if they want to save face after thisBazJacuzzi wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 1:26 pm I mean, this is basically 4.4 but not included in the update plan, isn't it?

My main concern is for their leadership and judgement as well as the state of the company. If their financial problems are so dire they thought this would solve them they are deep in a panicked delusion.
