How about updated 4-stage where you can add new points, with still limited curvature and points position depended on previous without snapping and weird not controllable zoom not showing whole range. Is this what you waiting forPieBerger wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 1:29 pm it better be around the corner and with the best MSEG ever implemented, if they want to save face after this![]()

Sounds like people who recently bought an update plan, actually bought Bitwig Lite without knowing it. Bait and switch, nice.musikarldererste wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 11:59 am okay guys they respond quick
got a message from them
they will introduce another upgrade plan
so in the future you can choose between to upgrade price -plans
the bigger ones = will have all addons included
the little ones = just daw workstation features but without future addons

Yeh, if they said this was a special one-off fundraiser for development or something, extenuating circumstances and maybe made it a bit cheaper, I would have bought it to help out even though I don't really need it.MADMANJ wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 1:27 pm If BW has financial problems it would have been better to make that clear, i would have been happy to donate for their existence, but this move is really unacceptable to me.
However, they have found a way of pissing of just about everyone and that's a rare talent amongst your users and 'fan' base
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

That is so sad...Spectral Suite first add-on, maybe after few months again second add-on, next year third add-on etc., so the price of full Bitwig Studio will come at the price of Ableton Suite? around 600 euros? no thanks...
As much as I love BWS, this is just a big punch to the BW community.

I agree. This move by Bitwig is a joke, and the joke is on me. My Upgrade Plan is Active Until May 27, 2024.RichN wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 1:45 pmSounds like people who recently bought an update plan, actually bought Bitwig Lite without knowing it. Bitwig also getting a slating on other forums, they really need to do something about all the negative press, it could really hurt them...What a shame, so unnecessary.

Yep, I feel the same as most of the users on this thread. I've really enjoyed using Bitwig for that last few years, I've found it to be expensive overall but a good and fun DAW.
This move was totally unexpected and as many here have voiced, how will we know which features are to be included in the 'normal' plan? What is considered to be too 'big' or too 'niche' for the 'normal' plan? I can only see it becoming significantly more expensive if you want all of the features.
It is hard not to conclude that Bitwig as a company has some serious financial issues - as this appears to make very little sense.
I now feel that I will look towards moving to a different DAW with a solid, fair and predictable future. Possibly Reaper?

I guess Bitwig execs didn't learn anything after 2.0 release backlash when they introduced subscription plan which they renamed to upgrade plan. Anybody remembers justification for the "upgrade plan" ? Machine-gunned released features anyone?
Totally bad move - I think increasing the cost of renewal would be more sincere
Edit: Anybody knows a good DAW with possibility to write custom controller scripts?

Polarity has made a Youtube video discussing the concerns around this (although I don't agree with him):

On their own YT channel and Polarity's too, which imo is one of the platforms they have most engagement on and rely on for their marketing.SLiC wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 2:00 pm Bitwig also getting a slating on other forums, they really need to do something about all the negative press, it could really hurt them...What a shame, so unnecessary.

the biggest disapointment for me
they dont even care
you can do so many things
if i were the boss ,
-i would make it cheaper like 30$ with a big excues toward loyal customers
-or i make it free for all and the future addons cost something so that you prepared for this
and what they are doing ? lame excuses wow
