Agree this is the bare minimum. Anything beyond this is business strategy and I wish them all the luck with it, but this is a must.Nemirov wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 4:04 pm For me it is clearly that everybody with active upgrade plan must recieve this and all further updates until plan end, including all content, addons, etc. This what was clamed when selling upgrade plan.
For new upgrade plans from this moment Bitwig can change rules where it will not include some addons, but client must know this before buy. And while devs time for paid addons will be taken from core functions, upgrade plan cost must become lower.
If this will not be so, so best wishes..

Counterpoint: these effects are bonkers.

I haven't really looked into them yet, but from a cursory glance, are they actually effects or just splitter devices that you add other effects to? Like Unfiltered Triad, Spec Ops, SplitEQ/Physion, etc. with just the splitting capability, but not the effects?

This feels like Cubase now with Halion, Groove Agent, Padshop Pro, or something costing extra, except upgrade prices for Cubase are usually something like $99.
If a cash influx is needed, then increase the upgrade price a bit and don’t anger your customer base.
I am sitting in the “wait and see” column with Triad, Spec Ops, and Multipass in my toolbox.

As far as I understand it the new devices are built with Bitwig's internal modular toolkit. This means that the addons are tied to the Bitwig version.soulmedia wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 3:44 pm And what happens about updates to the addons; how are they paid for? By an addon upgrade licence, or the core bitwig licence? If addons are a one-off purchase then core users are paying for the updates to them unless I'm missing something.
If you want to install an update for your spectral plugins then you'll also need an active plan for the main application even if you don't want to spend the money on a new plan.
The guys at Bitwig have not stated how they are going to handle that case. I don't think that they will indefinitely create extra addon updates for every single expired BWS version after 4.3.9. As far as I can see they'll just leave you behind unless you buy BWS updates to also get spectral plugin bug fixes.

Bitwig can go suck a lemon. All I gotta say that (maybe) hasn't already been said is that they better release the best point update we've ever seen in the next month or so.

Of course they are. So any aspects of Bitwig are amazing. That has little to do with the issue bothering most customers here. Trust has been broken, perceived or real.
Not a good look for Bitwig. I hope they act quickly to make this right.

Making cool stuff and running a business aren't the same thing. Bitwig are leaning too much to making cool stuff and neglecting the running of a business to facilitate it.billcarroll wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 4:24 pmOf course they are. Yes, the 12 months of updates no longer means anything... they can now choose any new feature to not be included and be a paid extraHBIII wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 4:32 pm Just wanted to say this is BS. If this is really how things are going to go I’m heading back to logic. What did I pay my yearly subscription for?
