What was misleading about the U-He promotion?
That's when I bought in …last week… now I have almost the entire u-he collection + Bitwig 4.3.8 & luv it.
The U-He deal filled me with love and peace and good vibes ¬ but this 4.3.9 Crash Bandicoot game today got weird and very quickly boring. …wrote tech support 'cuz i couldn't even run a DEMO of the Spectral suite… so I just reloaded 4.3.8 and got back to music.

The misleading part is that people bought/renewed Bitwig without knowing what they were paying for.
Of course everyone thought they'd get 12 months of "all included" from Bitwig because it said so in their website:
"Future-proof: All software updates in the following 12 months are FREE"
Bitwig could have announced some months in advance they'd be releasing paid add-ons and customers could have made a proper decision with full knowledge of what they were paying. But they didn't.
Of course Bitwig are not idiots, they knew people wouldn't like it. So instead, they decided to make the U-He promo to grab some cash to survive some months until the thing cooled off. Who knows, it might work out in the end. Or not...

Perhaps a last-ditch money grab just prior to announcing a Francisco Partners sell-out ala iZotope?pierb wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 3:40 am The misleading part is that people bought/renewed Bitwig without knowing what they were paying for.

Speak for yourself. I knew EXACTLY what I was buying into.
Nothing is misleading.
Imagine every time Steinberg or Presonus releases an addon and then KVR idiots demand it should be for free. Hahahahahahahahaha

It’s expected from the getgo for these other daws. Bitwig’s motto was always “pay subscription, get all features”. Now it’s shifted.kmonkey wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 6:25 amNo nope....pierb wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 3:40 am The misleading part is that people bought/renewed Bitwig without knowing what they were paying for.

If you have Presonus Sphere (their version of the update plan) then everything Presonus Launch for S1 is free.kmonkey wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 6:25 am Imagine every time Steinberg or Presonus releases an addon and then KVR idiots demand it should be for free. Hahahahahahahahaha
This what it says (still) on the Bitwig site for people who buy the upgrade plan...
12 Months of Free Upgrades
Future-proof: All Bitwig Studio updates in the following 12 months are FREE.
What part of that isn't clear? People only want what they were sold, that isn't unreasonable.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

This looks more like they've hired a guy directly from business school who thinks that he is the center of the universe and that he was sent from god to instantly increase the revenue of the company. These guys can't fail and they can't be wrong. If it fails then it's the fault of the developer or the marketing guy.
Been there before.

Here is the Bitwig CEO. I think this explains everything........

Funny enough I remember them pushing KVR as kind of "official" support forum in the early days.simmo75 wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 1:58 pm Do Bitwig ever interact on KVR, I’m not seeing any replies, and they’re seriously hurting themselves.

It’s explains why there is no forum on Bitwig site. They are quiet now as politicians in an uncomfortable situation. I think they know what are they doing, if it only was a not well thought decision, response from them about this situation should be quick.
To bad cuz i was about to buy Bitwig. Now i must wait.
BTW. I was wondering how is that Image Line have free liftime upgrade and they are ok even with high inflation and Bitwig want more even when their update plan is high?

They do not interact with their users in any capacity except via emails to support.simmo75 wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 1:58 pm Do Bitwig ever interact on KVR, I’m not seeing any replies, and they’re seriously hurting themselves.
