Someone linked to or revived an older thread the other day which included some responses from one of the Bitwig devs, so it hasn't always been like this. Good old times, though they probably had good reasons to step away from directly interacting with people, it's probably not great for mental health, and to be fair the entitled attitude that some people display around feature requests and roadmap transparency validates that decision.

I'm simply giving information that is freely available on the internet about the company such as the 70 out of 100 rating of the CEO.
There is much more information available such as annual revenue. Compare it to the annual revenue of Ableton and you'll get a sense of how big (or insignificant) a player Bitwig really is.

I think they have made a mistake. I even politely emailed them to share my view.
I don't think people need to reduce themselves to an over the top hyperbolic reaction. What ever happened to considered conversation on a topic?
I do love using the Bitwig DAW. So nice to make music with. I appreciate their efforts and craftsmanship beyond the simple transaction of money for product. I would happily keep using it for years even if they never put out another update.
I can split the issue of liking the DAW, from a poorly communicated launch of a plug in.

The net is full of people who are angry at something or everything.
Like I said just let people vent. It's not like Bitwig is reading this thread so it's more therapeutic than an actual threat to Bitwig's existence.
It will boil over in time especially if Bitwig does some damage control.

Except that it isn't what it said until a couple days ago. It said:SLiC wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 7:31 am This what it says (still) on the Bitwig site for people who buy the upgrade plan...
12 Months of Free Upgrades
Future-proof: All Bitwig Studio updates in the following 12 months are FREE.
What part of that isn't clear? People only want what they were sold, that isn't unreasonable.

Its a sound pack. Nothing more. I don’t buy sound packs. It might even be that they might open a shop for sound designers and simply have to test how this works.
I am interested in features, the library with all those presets is fine, but neither a feature nor at all the reason why I use Bitwig…

That's how they want to sell it, it very much isn't a sound pack though.Tj Shredder wrote: Fri Oct 07, 2022 6:22 am Its a sound pack. Nothing more. I don’t buy sound packs.

This forum isn't worth moderating and unfortunately a few bad apples here simply stink up the forum and aren't worth interacting with.

Yeah, actually they out sourced big parts of beta testing as well ... we need automated regression tests to avoid yet another "another regression from 4.4" ... there are books on amazon for testing. What if hypothetically speaking no pigeon or bad appel would spend time in beta testing from KVR? Would they just release a 5?billcarroll wrote: Mon Jun 19, 2023 12:43 pmBitwig never "tried to let "certified trainers" do their work."] Peter:H [ wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 6:04 pmNope, they do not ... their "community management" is none-existant. I know this seems "legit" ... but actually when you pay for a product of work of developers (aka commercial), then why are the beta testers not paid for. It's a kind of collective hypnosis that this approach of out sourcing is legit. It's borrowed of the many open source / free software projects.
