If needed an active annual subscription for updates to the add-on ? wouldn't that imply it was part of that subscription in the first place ? Confused to how it will work

Only option is for adding the number. There is no add on upgrade field in the account.

I wouldn't expect any updates. You buy them as they are for the current Bitwig version. If you want updates, be ready pay again for both the latest Bitwig version and the add-on updates.Buckster wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 11:12 amHow long do you get updates for the add-on ?perpetual3 wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 11:08 am You get a serial number for the add on.Buckster wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 11:06 am If you buy spectra add-on outright do you get updates for free to that add-on as long as it is updated ? So will updates for add-on be separate then ?
Otherwise if you had a month left on your annual plan and 4.4 comes out after expires what happens to any updates or the add-on if they are part of 4.4 etc etc updates ?

The add on is not part of the upgrade. It’s a separate serial number.

I doubt anyone really wants them to crash and burn but Butwig have created a scenario that may engender that.perpetual3 wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 10:52 am Disgruntled Bitwig users would rather see the company crash and burn into oblivion if the number of “I refuse to upgrade” assertions made in the past few days.
And the suite is really good. Shame.
Fraud is fraud pure and simple and no-one likes to be defrauded so let Bitwig do the honourable thing and work WITH the community to find a way to restore faith and viability.

So any bug fixes, feature tweaks etc post 4.4 you'd need an annual plan ? Therefore wouldn't that mean annual plan from then on that people might purchase would pay for Dev time to support add-on and core Bitwig even if don't own add-on ?
Doesn't make much sense to me

To be fair, Bitwig are a long way from being a 'Start Up', they started in 2009, it's been 13 years so they shouldn't really be making mistakes like this at this stage._leras wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 10:19 amThe most important thing in a small start-up business *is* listening to customers.SLiC wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 10:03 am ...I don't think they are backtracking; they are digging in (or they wouldn't have changed the web after the users views were known) They think they are right (or this is necessary) and the users are wrong.
Let's hope it all works out, but I suspect a lot of unnecessary damage has been done by now whatever they do next week.

You need an active upgrade plan which costs $170. So you can't get updates for your add-ons without handing over some money.

Add ons are perpetual.
Upgrade plan supports BWS upgrades.
New add ons are a separate purchase → the cost of which supports development of add ones.

Updates to add ons are not. They cost 170 bucks.
