For 3rd party, no per voice. For internal plugins, it depends.
I don't think that's true - per voice does work with CLAP - I've used it with DIVA

Some already released, DIVA, ACE

Is this public information?
you can search for Bitwig here, enter captcha and look into the financial statements "Jahresabschluss". It's all in German accounting standard and language, so not IFRS.

https://www.bundesanzeiger.de/pub/de/start?0

Other source with less information here: https://www.northdata.de/BITWIG+GmbH,+B ... B+120069+B

You can see the spike in 2017 in total assets of >1 mio. €, that's when they got a capitalisation I think, which is hold as free capital reserve ytd.

Cannot look into the contracts, because the function is in maintenance, but they can be looked into here https://www.handelsregister.de/rp_web/welcome.xhtml
Quite healthy balance sheet with a lot of free cash.
They are NOT in financial trouble.
They do their business this way because they consciously want to.
Love it or leave it.

Just watched some of this...wow. So two guys who don't pay for Bitwig think paying users shouldn't be upset because:

- there's a war in Ukraine
- Other companies are screwing you too
- Someone went SO FAR as to ask a couple of lawyer friends about the EULA, lol
- And the best one.... You're posting on KVR and WATCHING THIS VIDEO instead of making music.

I've never heard of Benn Jordan before but I just lost a ton of respect for Venus.... At least he confirmed that I should spend whatever small amount of time I spend watching his videos making music instead.
Agree - it was pretty cringeworthy

THIS. I am SO tired of fanboys and influencers pushing the phrase "core DAW features", which is just a bull***t term for basic functionality. That was never a thing that drew people to Bitwig. I don't know anyone who bought Bitwig so they could use it for basic things you can do in literally any other DAW. The entire point of Bitwig is that it's a left-field sound design playground that allows you to create music in non-traditional ways.

Bitwig is and always was a weird, experimental and yes NICHE programming environment for sound designers and generative musicians who were NEVER interested in things like "core features". Our heads were outside the box from the very outset. If you bought Bitwig just to draw some notes in the piano roll and plop audio clips into the arrangement view, I'm sorry that you wasted your money because you could've just paid $60 for Reaper.
Hey, fine if that is what it is for you.

For me it's just a very easy to use, and pretty frictionless environment for making music.

The routing, the grouping, the browser, the tools, the scenes, the modulation all help make a wonderful workflow for how I like to make music.

The way it manages windows on my dual screen setup is incredible.

I use mostly third party plug ins and it works very well with all of them.

In particular the routing, grouping and containers makes mixing very nice. Want a mix knob for a plug in, simply alt+g and group it. Tada. Want a send reverb for on channel only, group the channel and add the verb.

Now don't get me wrong I also really like it for making sounds too, combining sound sources and fx chains work amazingly well.

But. Overall. It's the slick seamless workflow by a mile that I appreciate most. Attention to detail in many places.

It's only going to get better as well.
It's a habit of the mind to lump stuff into categories. I have very little interest in generative music. And while I do like sound design, my primary objective is making music and Bitwig is great for creating and completing songs.

The routing, Grouping and Containers (Selectors    ) make organizing and controlling stuff an enjoyable experience.

And there is a lot of basic functionality that drew me to Bitwig. Bitwig is the most stable DAW I've used. For me that is basic function #1. Also the plugin sandboxing and being able to open multiple projects.

With a few additions, Bitwig would be a complete DAW for me for music creation from start to finish.

I can’t help thinking that a lot of people who are quick to abandon Bitwig have never really gone deep and used it.

Post

I have gone deep with bitwig. It is my main daw for everything for years. But that doesn’t mean they are going to hold me hostage. I am still going to vote with my wallet and switch to something else. Also unsubscribed from benn jordan and Venus theory.

This fascinated me - to see what it takes for someone to go to another DAW. In this case, Bitwig offers functionality that is without equal. I use other dates more or less because I have to, but none of them can replace Bitwig.

Well, that didn't take long.... apparently these idiots have pulled the video... it's no longer available.

I guess they're not even going to stand by their own hot takes.

i'm not using Bitwig, but i wouldn't drop my favorite DAW over this... "incident".
sure, they f**ked their customers, there's no denying, and i would, as some others have already commented here, also vote with my wallet and "just" stop supporting them in advance / good will "just because" and only buy / renew your license if some TRULY great things already became available that you'd REALLY appreciate.
otherwise you will only punish yourself, as you'll either end up with something else that might not really float your boat, and/or would be shelling out half a grand again for it's closest competitor(s) (unless you already have dozens of DAW licenses anyway  )

this is just me, but i wouldn't even automatically extend my license for Reaper 6, which is valid until 8.0 arrives and would only cost me around $60 for the next 4, maybe 5 years, as the DAW already does most things that are important for me (and then some!) unless some HUGE additions surface, that might improve my workflow tenfold.
but not just because my current version is 7.99 at one point, and 8.0 arrives.
let's face it: most DAWs should provide you with everything to write the best (or most "creative") songs ever. if they can't, you either purchased the wrong DAW (for you), or it's not your equipment
