I remember when people had the licensing issues with Vengeance Avenger (the switch to codemeter). Indirectly Manuel said something along the lines of "kvr, gs or reddit account for not even 1% of the customer base and me being here giving explanations is rather a privilege than an obligation". At this point is pretty clear that the vast Bitwig user base has no issues with the move. They know it by their numbers and will just move on. As anyone here should

Then obviously you got already Physion… Nothing to loose

Depends on the announcement they make lol.

If they say something like "We're sorry for the confusion but this is how things are going to be from now on" I don't think it's going to go well.

Honestly, I think the best response would be to include the add-ons (and all future add-ons) in the subscription but increase the price of the subscription.

That might conceivably be true, but do you know what the opinions are of the 99% that are not on KvR, gs or reddit?

And I don't think we are expecting Bitwig to come here - we expect something on their website or perhaps an email to those of us subscribed to their newsletter.

We're almost getting to a 100 pages on this thread and still nothing, that's nice of you Bitwig.

Post

Almost 100 pages and almost 50.000 views. There are thousands of comments on twitter, discord and reddit and every video on every platform about this topic has hundreds of comments. If this is only 1% of the user base then Bitwig is bigger than I thought.

giacometti777 wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 3:00 pm Are you just totally ignorant to world leading analogous projects like Blender? It’s crazy how people allow themselves to be so confident on partial understandings of the world.
You may want to have a look at the industry backing Blender enjoys before calling it an even remotely analogous project.

Talking about partial understandings of the world and then comparing vastly different markets, industries, tools, and budgets.

and I have never read so much on bitwig, actually the only thread in a company forum I ever subscribed to. :hihi:
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I'm under no illusion that active online community members make up for a meaningful percentage of Bitwig's user base.

But I'm pretty sure that reputation and trust as conveyed and discussed by the online Bitwig community is meaningful to the way the software is perceived by potential users. At least if this doesn't just blow over in a few weeks.

That’s a common problem for those those don’t listen to or empathize with other people

I typically allow the companies mods to do their thing, the absolute zero presence of their company mods during the this entire thread should be at least noted.

What data did you rely on for that enviable clarity?

Can't blame them. I'm starting to see why Gol was such an ass to people on the IL forums.
