Well done Bitwig. You've done the right thing to walk back the horrible and quite possibly illegal move made last week and to honor your own EULA again.
Now to all those fanbois who were calling people who complained "children" or "childish" or accusing them of "crying" or "whining" you own them an apology. Go on, say you're sorry now.
You can see what happens when people passionately defend what is right and fair.
You can see how mistakes can be fixed when paying customers of any company don't just roll over and take it up the........
Now we can put this sordid affair behind us and move on.........

Big respect for them now! They took the time they needed under pressure, and when they were ready they admitted having made mistakes. Great to see.

So does this mean no more Ad-ons??
Not really 100% clear in that statement.
They speak of Bitwig Studio and devices.
“ Moving forward, all of our Bitwig Studio feature development, including devices, will be covered by the 12-month Upgrade Plan.“

Hats off to Bitwig for putting things right and honouring existing upgrade plans. The statement that all devices will be included in upgrade plans going forward went even further than I thought they might.
Anyway what's done is done and they have made good so all is well.
Yes and they could have done something like this if they'd only approached it the right way - which would have involved honouring active upgrade plans till they expire, then on renewal having two options - a 'core only' option that was cheaper than the current upgrade plan and an 'all devices" option that was more expensive than the current plan. Perhaps with the option to buy specific devices individually if you are on core only. I don't think people would have had a problem with that, as long as it was communicated well.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 11:29 am So when they put the price up for the yearly plan (to keep up with inflation), I'm looking forward to the thread demanding that they separate specialized tools that many people might not want, from the core application, so as to bring the price back down.![]()
Anyway what's done is done and they have made good so all is well.

Yes, I think they worded this poorly also... they seem to have closed the door on add ins, which I actually think is a shame in case they wanted to do partnerships etc.ToneShop wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 12:29 pm So does this mean no more Ad-ons??

Yes, but I believe they leave the door open for selling additional sound packs and the like in the future. I'm ok with that.ToneShop wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 12:29 pm So does this mean no more Ad-ons??

Probably not an easy thing to do with the baying hoards at the door with pitchforks looking to burn the place down.Andreya_Autumn wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 12:19 pm Big respect for them now! Magically, all is well in the world again today. Sunshine and unicorns now the loons have gone the full emotional arc.

I'll copy and paste my response from the other thread:
And you're still showing disrespect.Teksonik wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 12:44 pmYou mean the mob hate coming from fanbois who called the people who complained "crazies" or "children" or "childish" or accused them of "crying" or "whining" ?_leras wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 12:26 pm It didn't need the mob hate though. Manners and respectful behavior are free and have just the same outcome.
Is that respectful behavior?
Yes some people may have gone a bit over the top but that came from both sides.
The bottom line is you and all the other fanbois owe those who complained a debt of gratitude because without them Bitwig would not have changed course and rectified their mistake.
So show some "manners and respectful behavior" to those who fought to make Bitwig do the right thing and say thank you.
My point is you were on no more higher moral ground than anyone else. I hope you can get that fact out of all of this.
