Lot of talk about a clip launcher coming to Cubase.
Personally id rather they left that alone for the likes of Bitwig and Ableton, but all the cool kids are using it

Same. Let Cubase be Cubase, let the clip launchers be clip launchers, let Apple try to be a jack of all trades with Logic, etc. I own Live, its fun but, I don't even use it there. Session view for me is just the mixer. I love the way Live handles audio and warping and whatnot, but all my time is spent in the Arranger. I just can't/don't work that way, which is why I use Cubase or my MPC as my main sequencers. I'd rather Steinberg focus on Cubase's workflow and streamline/improve the already solid foundation instead of throwing more crap in it (kinda like Akai has done with the new MPC lineup)..JuniorSenior wrote: Wed Oct 12, 2022 2:24 am Lot of talk about a clip launcher coming to Cubase.

Anyone know how to route Scaler2 to other instruments?
Was so easy in Reaper to do this.
Love the Midi Controller Routing in Cubase.
But my head is hopeless with the routing of signals.
I'll try a few things and see if I can get it working.

Just add a scaler instrument track, and then set the MIDI Input of the slave instrument to be the scaler track ("All MIDI Inputs" is the default if you can't find it). Very simple.Smasha wrote: Wed Oct 12, 2022 5:37 am Anyone know how to route Scaler2 to other instruments?

Just make sure that the slave instrument track's monitor or record enable is turned on, too. Otherwise received notes won't be played.

Not sure if anyone is interested anymore, but as of now, I'm back to Studio One. Steinberg took over 10 days to fulfil my order, NO wait, they haven't done it yet. So yeah, doesn't inspire much confidence in me to use their products. Maybe it wasn't meant to happen. On the bright side, I won't have to learn a new DAW now and can once again embrace Studio One. Guess huge discounts aren't the answers then, lesson learnedmusicproducerdee wrote: Tue Oct 04, 2022 9:45 am I myself just decided to ditch Studio One and purchased a competitive crossgrade to Cubase 12 Pro for $180. Let's see how it works out.

I wish there was a way of zooming midi information on clips in the arranger though, like we can do for audio. I know doesn't make any difference in workflow, it's just something I'd like to see. Anyways, not a deal breaker.musicproducerdee wrote: Tue Oct 04, 2022 10:14 amMaybe it's something that we needed from the paid upgrade that we were looking forward to for a long long time, and expected it to be a part of this upgrade, and when that doesn't happen, it means waiting for the next upgrade, and if that happens. So it can get tiresome waiting for something you want for a long time, meanwhile it being present in other already available DAW. Can you still work without upgrading, sure. But it's not always that fun and it's simply personal preference at this point. Plus these huge discounts are really tempting lol.chk071 wrote: Tue Oct 04, 2022 9:49 amI'm surprised that it's so easy to convince people to switch to another DAW... I would never switch for the reason of a new paid upgrade not convincing me.Trancer wrote: Tue Oct 04, 2022 5:05 am Not being convinced by version 6 of Studio One Pro, I said to myself, I will invest the sum for Cubase Pro 12.
I love Studio One Pro, but a little disappointed with this version 6.

In Cubase or Studio One?musicproducerdee wrote: Wed Oct 12, 2022 9:43 pm I wish there was a way of zooming midi information on clips in the arranger though, like we can do for audio.
If Studio One, then I agree - I was thinking the very same thing last night - Something I always liked within Cubase was the edit in-place option where you bring the piano roll into the main timeline.
Studio one, the MIDI data just looks so thin and uninspiring when you zoom height!

You have to right click on the empty space to creat the group track. You can do it in the mixer, or in the arrangement window where you can eight click in the space under the tracks.
Once you have a group track, you can route pretty much any track to it. This is at the top of the mixer. Main mixer.view.is more clear.
If still not clear Google a tutorial on YouTube or read the manual...

I compose music for TV and find that Cubase is excellent for live keyboard and MIDI work.
I have also written and remixed Techno material in Cubase and it is also very good for that - especially with the improved time stretch options.
Oh and templates are the way to go in Cubase. It's a sure-fire way to get into your workflow more quickly.

This makes a massive difference if you do it right and are starting many new projects.HHUKRadio wrote: Fri Oct 14, 2022 1:31 pm Oh and templates are the way to go in Cubase. It's a sure-fire way to get into your workflow more quickly.
For me, I have a bunch of stem type buses with some parralels in one template. Then I can start a project from scratch and just route things into preconfigured buses. I have a couple of others with drums and synths set up, though I seem to use these less as I prefer a blank slate in some ways.
