Hey there, I wanted to offer a small suggestion. I would love an option in the settings to make the backgrounds black.

I understand the use of 3D interfaces, since they are recreations of old hardware after all. But the colorful "room" borders look funny against a dark-colored DAW. Like the Comp fet-76 for example-- I think it would look much better with a black background, or with no border at all (like Overloud, softube etc. where you just see the front panel)

Just my two cents. Other than that, the plugins sound great, and I especially love the Culture Vulture emulation. Nice and thick
It's very very good. I just got it. It's so good that I am not even going to complain about some of those weird 'backgrounds' in their GUIS. Culture Vulture emulation replaces at least two plugs in the chain.

Fantastic.

Yes, that’s the one thing I don’t get and dislike about the plugins. I dislike it as much as rack ears on on a plugin GUI.

It's funny, I've just been checking the collection out for a couple of days and I didn't even notice the backgrounds, but I'm in Logic with a neutral grey setting. I actually rather like them and the general vibe of the GUIs.

The delays are great, perhaps it's just the novelty factor but I get the impression these FX will replace most of what I was using prior. Everything seems to have enough convincing non-linearity that it's another nudge away from digital deadness.

Francois, this is an outstanding collection. I am excited about plugins again. My only main gripe is with that wasted space. It's a bit of an Arturia 'specialty', but do we really need it?

Also, a separate comp/limiter for the Diode 609 would be amazing! I ask because that limiter isn't essential for many of us, who probably only use the compressor. And what an amazing compressor it is.

Fun package. Like Christmas.

Been reading about the FX Collection lately and seems like a good investment. Any free demos available to download prior to purchase?

yes, just make an account, download the arturia service center and you'll find everything (under *explore products*) as a demo.

Yes you can demo them. But plugins are a terrible investment and never go up in value after purchase.

Optional Darkmode for Coldfire, please. It's so good, i'd replace all my other distortion plugins with it, but my eyes hurt at night.

There was an Arturia survey few weeks ago where they asked users about dark mode GUI option, so going by Arturia's excellent updates and support of their products, I am pretty sure they would be considering user feedback and I am expecting a dark mode in the next lot of updates (9.1 is due for V Collection 9 anyway? but FX3 + COLDFIRE would probably be considered along side), possibly in this month itself after the current sale ends.

Since there are lots of well-thought-out additional controls on these plugins I'll add request for reverbs and delays, and I wish all software companies did this: an extra control so that when used as an insert there's an easy way to keep dry gain constant when A/Bing. If I aim to e.g. add ambience on a drum track generally speaking I want the dry sound to remain roughly constant when evaluating the reverb.

I'm really liking the Arturia GUIs in general, including quirky backgrounds. I think the Arturia graphic department are doing an awesome job, particularly with the abstract visuals on Coldfire, Augmented Strings and suchlike.

I just got the entire arturia collection instruments and effects with a bunhc of sound packs. Honestly I'm a little confused with the effects. So many different compressors. Looking for sources to help clarify which compressor is better suited to certain tasks etc.

Give the manuals a look. They contain some historical as well as usage information.

Well that's massively subjective and quite difficult to answer. Here's my tip for compression - always ask yourself this first before adding compression: What am I trying to achieve?

Are you trying to flatten the peaks of an over mix or bus? Catching that one loud peak, or adding snappy transients to drums? Adding "glue" and tighten the mix, or maybe controlling the decay of pads?

You always want to know WHY you are reaching for a compressor, then you simply choose one to fit the task.
