Gotta say, am looking forward to seeing these - stopped all VST2 installs some time ago...crickey13 wrote: Mon Mar 14, 2022 7:39 am Bootsy might be busy with polishing VoS VST3 updates, but who knows.

Don't mean to steal the thread, but what's the actual difference that makes it any meaningful to choose between VST and VST3?thebutler wrote: Sat Oct 15, 2022 10:39 amrasmusklump wrote: Tue Feb 01, 2022 1:12 pm He has vst3 plugins already but they aren't downloadable atm because of some bugsGotta say, am looking forward to seeing these - stopped all VST2 installs some time ago...crickey13 wrote: Mon Mar 14, 2022 7:39 am Bootsy might be busy with polishing VoS VST3 updates, but who knows.

Plus, if you're a Cubase user, Steinberg is threatening to drop VST 2 support in the near future.

This article only tells a part of the story... explaining what the VST 3 plugins offer.dmbaer wrote: Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:20 pmFor a good explanation, see this:kPere wrote: Sat Oct 15, 2022 3:23 pm Don't mean to steal the thread, but what's the actual difference that makes it any meaningful to choose between VST and VST3?

In practice, VST3 makes it much more difficult to work with MIDI automation (https://forums.steinberg.net/t/vst3-and ... all/201879) and its SDK is not loved so much by many developers, having grey zones, not being completely stable and defined - after years. Not such green grass...
It was a really bad move from Steinberg to completely stop providing VST2 SDK licenses and threaten to ditch VST2 support totally.
This is the main reason I hope CLAP format gets traction...

ThrillseekerLA was designed from the beginning in 2012 as a modern stereo compressor with exciting sound coloring possibilities. It is a compressor with authentic opto-electric control behavior in feed-forward circuit topology.
The upcoming mkII update is a technical redesign dedicated solely to improving the sound. It delivers a unique box tone with thrilling bass and elegant top end void of any harshness in the mids. The compression not only glues everything together effortlessly, but also enhances the stereo image by adding depth and dimension.
The release is scheduled for mid-December.

Yes!!!
Recently I discovered BootEQ as a compressor. It has a very nice sound: Tube ON and set to Modern. Carefully drive it and get some classy smack. Me likes.
And yeah, looking forward to LA in a few days!
