FL Studio. The ability to Copy/Paste/Delete Mod Wheel, Pitch Bend, and Aftertouch data along with Note On/Off and Velocity data.

It's such a fundamental design flaw that has existed for years that I finally got tired of it and I purchased a version of Bitwig to see if it will work as a replacement for FL Studio.

I finally got one of the FL developers to even understand the issue but I fear the flaw is so deeply ingrained in the code it might never be fixed.

The lack of Step Record is the greatest weakness I've found in Bitwig so far.

To be completely honest ARA support is so much better with Melodyne, you can use it with any DAW really, but it’s cumbersome at best without ARA support.
Melodyne is easy now with bitwig watch this video first and tell me what do you think 🤔
I think it looks like Melodyne in a DAW that Does not have ARA support. You obviously have never used Melodyne or ARA if you think that's a revelatory video, that's how you have to use it in a DAW that doesn't support ARA.

Is there a VST plugin that can do step recording? And then with drag-n-drop to timeline?

I'm looping.

My DAW lacks audio clips, and the arrangement view and midi controllers are still in its barebones, hopefully they will be addressed in a future

Logic can't launch clip and auto assign midi controler of my APC 40 so i had to purchase bitwig.
Sometimes I make sound with logic because plugins are better and sound library is huge, import audio stems in Bitwig and organise there my techno perfomances.
I will be simplier to do everything in Logic but there are 2 different beasts.

Does any DAW have the ability to let you raise and lower individual left + right channels of a bus? Cubase 12 doesn't, so I use Venn's Utility tool for that.

Agreed, the drum editor in Cubase is great. I also love how you can select to use GM drum names or pull the names from the instrument.

How is that different from panning?

When I LFO a synth's filter cutoff at a rate of, say, 4/1 then autopan it, the lower frequencies might sometimes get too low in, say, the left channel. With the Utility Tool, I can eyeball the difference and make sure the left stays as loud as the right.

I guess you could do it in Reaper with routing but you’d need to utilise multiple tracks, source stereo track routed to individual left and right mono tracks to give you independent control of each then recombined into a new stereo output track.
