The new interview-ripple function sounds marvellous...

I think most people would tell you that how clunky a DAW is to use is rarely indicated by how it looks.

I think you've confused the purposes of the Studio One Show page and Live/Bitwig/Logic/DP (and now Ardour) clip launching. Maybe you don't understand what this actually means? Seems unlikely in 2022, but possible.jamcat wrote: Sun Oct 16, 2022 3:23 am Nah, Studio One has a whole Show page for live performances. Quite a bit more advanced than a goofy clip looper.

I knew that, just trying to display it's insignificance to the conversation. Just goes to show how some comments that disagree don't really have a meaningful reasoning behind them. Other than stroking their opinions.

That might be true in certain rare instances. But I honestly can't think of a DAW that is both visually well designed and also clunky to use.
I will make sure to give Ardour 7 a try under Linux at some point.

Warning. that interview is long and rambly. I've done better ones in terms of information density, but it was fun to do. Also, I'm the original/lead developer, not "the developer". Lots of people are responsible for Ardour.

When we were working on clip launching, and constantly taking notes from Live, I would say we had several occasions to note the excellent visual design despite the clunky implementation details.v1o wrote: Sun Oct 16, 2022 9:55 pmThat might be true in certain rare instances. I doubt it, because that's Harrison's deal. They support the development of Ardour because they use it as the basis for Mixbus. But I'd think they'd need the revenue to do that.scalawag wrote: Sun Oct 16, 2022 11:45 am Soundwise, does it sound the same as Mixbus, just by adjusting the stock EQ curves?

Well done! You and Robin have put out another great release, Paul. Thank you!dawhead wrote: Sun Oct 16, 2022 11:33 pm Warning. that interview is long and rambly. Well it wasn't like you were adding much to the conversation either by taking a pot shots at Studio One for not having a clip launcher. I'm not sure what response you wanted.eerie_audio wrote: Sun Oct 16, 2022 9:38 pmI knew that, just trying to display it's insignificance to the conversation. If you say Ardour is more advanced than S1 because it has a clip launcher you are going to get a certain response back. Mostly because that kind of comment is silly beyond compare.

Details are very important. That's why it was formed as a question not a statement. So that basically makes everything you typed invalid. And I'm not sure why you feel the need to defend other peoples' meaningless opinion in the first place. Some people seem to get triggered over the most silliest reasons.Ardour is now more advanced and innovative for live performances than Studio One 6?
