The plugins just seemed much more polite and "static", while the hardware was woolly and alive. At least that was my initial impression.

$150 for the plugins vs, what, $7000 USD for the hardware, if you can find all of them? the hardware is about 1/50's the price of the harware. That probably gave you GAS.

I recognize this too. But for $150, you get all 7 of them, which is 1/8th of the MF104 alone. The plugins actually calmed my gas for getting a hardware unit for a few reasons, after wanting one for the last several years.

1. The convenience. I like having software effects. I think soft synth's interfaces suck itb, but software effects are much quicker to tweak with smaller UIs. Maybe just me, but I prefer this.

2. Yeah, the cost. 2nd hand market for the hardware is dumb. I was trying to get myself to justify dropping a bunch of money on one, but now I have 7 in software and can play with them to see if I really think I want a hardware unit. But I won't pay current hardware prices, only in the future if they come down. I'm not giving the greedy hardware bastards my precious money. They'll probably decrease in value from here. And if they don't, then that will easily make up my mind to never buy them. Not worth it.

3. Sound. These sound a lot better than other software effects I have. It's definitely not hardware and I never expect that out of software (even if people want to convince themselves they don't need hardware). This sounds like a pro for both software and hardware, I know. But for me, sending hardware synths through these (software Moogerfoogers) gives me the sound presence of hardware with the flexibility of wacky effects easily automated in a DAW. Best of both worlds for me here.

Hey, glad you like 'em. For me, I thought the sound was something I could probably already get with the software I have. If you feel they bring something new and useful to your setup, then enjoy!

I also preferred the sound from the hardware, it was a bit more alive for sure. But this video is really only showing things with plain tones, so I wouldn't judge these totally by this video.

That said, these plug ins can still sound pretty great - the other video posted (mylarmelodies modular geek) has some really great sounding results, very nicely showing the sound and capabilities. Quite unique too I think. They definitely capture the tone.

Part of me wishes these could all be turned into some sort of super-plugin with all of them and their top panels displayed at once, along with the CP-251. But then I realize I've just reinvented modular so welp.

It does seem a little obvious though. Several people had the same request so you're not alone. Maybe they'll look to add that.

Software is more polite sounding than the hardware.
I like it more than the rough boxes.

I can't make the phaser self-oscillate. On my hardware one it will do so if I (a) crank the resonance up to 10 and (b) further drive the resonance with a DC voltage. Not something I did more than once or twice but Hainbach used it to good effect to make some drums.
