3rd party Plugin sidechain in Waveform

Hi All
I Can't work out how to set up/route side chaining for 3rd party plugins.
In "Audio Tech TV" youtube chanel, Zane explains how to do Sidechain compression with waveforms built in compressor. But I want to use an audio gate to trigger "white noise bursts", controlled by snare drum hits on a second track. I have a Focusrite gate plugin with sidechain that works in cubase, but I don't know how to route the audio in waveform?

Wrap the plugin in a rack. Now you can see all the inputs. Copy the rack to your trigger track, route that to the sidechain. Lower the volume on your trigger track as the rack will output on both tracks. If you need you can add inputs and outputs to a rack plugin. Its easy once you get the hang of it

Might be important, my personal workflow is to create an exact copy of the snare track (in your example) and use that as the trigger. So I have my real snare going to the bus/output and I can process that independently. Then I have the copy track which feeds the comp/gate/whatever. That second track has the volume lowered so you don't hear it at all. So I can process the trigger audio (snare in this case) separately. Eg: for sidechain compression I might drag the trigger audio forward 10 ms so the compressor is ducking just before the real snare hits etc etc.

In Waveform, the default location for sidechaining is the upper left corner of the plugin. 3rd parties can of course subvert this and put it wherever they want. In that case, Dysjoint provides good advise. But check the upper left corner of the plugin you want to sidechain. Clicking on it shows a list of tracks that will serve as the sidechain trigger.
