guess we still have to wait a little longer then.. looking at the recent final cut release i don't expect it to be a big one of an update tho

More realistically, I wonder when 10.8 will come out.

Now that Ventura is here, there should an update PDQ. Whether it's a maintenance or a minor version update, however....
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

All Apple software but Logic got minor bug fix updates after Ventura . Might mean a major update like 10.8 is soon.

You think we'll see Mac Pros too? I can't imagine Apple is selling a ton at this point.jules99 wrote: Fri Oct 28, 2022 12:15 pm It's possible that Apple will release an update some time in November once their new line of Macbook Pros with M2 Pro/Max is out.

Considering TSMC hasn’t yet gone into full scale production of their 3nm process, I could see Apple waiting until next spring or WWDC to release the new Mac Pro, unless they’re dead set on meeting their original 2 year transition timeline.

Good point, but "announced" is not "shipped".
To get back to Logic XI, I would hope for a rewrite from the ground up. The core engine is over 20 years old now. Of course, it won"t solve their desire for a "beautiful" interface that wastes half of the screen real estate. I tried to love Logic 7, but never could. I only got Logic X so I could open old projects (that have since been lost, but that's another story...)

If you want fresh from the ground up, I think Bitwig would be your best choice. And Bitwig isn't new either. It's kinda mature by now. For all that to be rewritten is to do a whole new DAW

I would really like updated guis for the old stuff like ES2, ESX24 etc. They hurt my eyes but certainly not my ears.
