Okay, I may be daft (Actually, I KNOW I am when it comes to most DAW stuff...), but I can't figure out how to delete my automation stuff from a track! -I can hide it, or remove the additional automation lane and have it just overlapped on the track itself, but i can't figure out how to delete it completely -Even when it's not visible its' effect is still being applied to the track...
ALSO -Why does Waveform allow you to add multiple tracks of the same automation parameter?? For example, I can add six tracks of volume automation for the same track, and they are all moving in unison with one another -If I add a point to one and move it up or down, they (all the automation tracks) move along with it... It would make sense, I suppose, if there was the ability to move them independently from one another (I'm sure there is, I probably just don't know how to do it), but to have them all moving in unison -just multiple tracks of the same automation move -seems rather redundant/ unnecessary...
Sorry if these are daft questions.
Thanks.
How to Delete Automation in Waveform...

If you select a line of automation and your Control Panel is opened up into USEFUL MODE you can see "Delete Points from Curve" which will allow you to delete all points.
Keep in mind that the automation shown is just a visual representation of the actual automation. Hiding it doesn't make it stop working. Deleting all the points doesn't make it disappear from view.
That also answers your next question: "Why does Waveform allow you to add multiple tracks of the same automation parameter?" It's your automation. You can look at it as many times as you like. You seem to be asking "Why does Waveform allow me to do something that I don't want to do?" You might also ask, "why am I doing something that I don't want to do?"
I agree that automation is a bit clunky, but it makes more sense when you think of it as "show me this automation here" rather than "show me the automation."

Surely there must be consensus by now...

I get this. Quite different from how I'm used to thinking of it, but thank you...pough wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 2:27 am If you select a line of automation and your Control Panel is opened up into USEFUL MODE you can see "Delete Points from Curve" which will allow you to delete all points.

Might take some time!

Select automation with the left mouse button (the curve will turn white) and click Delete. All points will be removed and automation will become independent.
yes, it seems somewhat clumsy and not obvious, but I agree with this decision with the developers, because in the end it is convenient
