Plugins for music, serious business. I look at the issues facing the world today and it’s well worth an argument.

Me even has a Foes list for bad presets, not kidding.
You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

Yeah, I'm with Teksonik on this...Teksonik wrote: Sat Nov 05, 2022 12:11 pmYet you feel entitled to be rude and condescending over a simple forum post so the irony is actually in you.licasto2 wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 9:04 pm lolz, you're calling someone else entitled? The irony is thick with this one....
You feel I can't insult iLok but you feel entitled to insult me.
Let me explain it again....yes I'm entitled, to keep my studio computer stable and free from software that does me no good. Who is really acting entitled are developers who think they have a right to take any liberties with our systems they wish even if it's for a freebie. Just because we buy a plugin from a developer or even get it for "free" it doesn't give them the right to do anything they wish to our systems especially when so many top developers don't feel the need to use an intrusive CP scheme or install storefronts. Get it? Got it? Good.
So is my studio computer, it does nothing but produce music and videos. That's exactly why I want to keep intrusive CP schemes that are little more than malware off of it. I am concerned about the stability of a system that's so important to me. If you're not then please feel free to install all the bloatware and intrusive CP schemes (that can cause system stability issues) you wish.licasto2 wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 9:04 pmP.S. My systems being "intruded" by iLok are SPECIFICALLY for music production and mixing.
I won't judge you for your decision so don't judge me for mine.
You may not be a nerd but you are one bitter guy who doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.licasto2 wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 9:04 pmI ain't a nerd playing an MMO or whatever else a "Yo, I'm a producer, yo!" wannabe actually use their computer for (instead of "making beats"). 100% music production.![]()
How about you stop whining about my posts just because I don't like iLok and keep your tears to yourself? Is your manhood so fragile that you can't stand someone refusing to use a plugin because it's infected with iLok?licasto2 wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 9:04 pmHow about you stop whining about free stuff and keep the tears to yourself?
Grow up.....and stop quoting me so we can let this go...![]()
System performance is key and every little thing robbing us unnecessarily from that is to be avoided. It's comically obvious that even they know what an atrocity it is since they eventually have to drop their pants and essentially slash their price by up to 99% or flat out give it away just to get the iLok on our system...
It's like a prostitute that announces their service is free while they're treating a nasty STD.
Organized crime calls this "the protection racket". Developers ask why they need it and are replied to with, "you could get pirates, yeah, that's it, you could get pirates!"
The simple solution for many of us here would be to simply state everytime that the product requires it so that someone else doesn't have to.
And that goes for the developers website as well. It should be listed with the product instead of having to search for it on the third question of the second page of the FAQ. Or worse, "clearly stated in the manual under installation".
I get why some like it, l don't really get their need to defend it at everyone else's expense though. It's just as bad as the company doing their best to hide that requirement until after the sell.
Try to state when things require it and also when things are NFR when you post a deal. It just seems like good manners to practice.
Can we all move on now?

I love you guys... 'I'm gonna ask that we all move on, but after I get my rant in'. Friggen hilarious. You all are children. You do realize most people are polite and don't respond to poorly made off topic rants, right? Go start a proper seperate thread and have a discussion about your purity crusade, don't try to evangelize on this one. You're harshing the Black Friday deal vibe.BBFG# wrote: Sat Nov 05, 2022 4:33 pmYeah, I'm with Teksonik on this...Teksonik wrote: Sat Nov 05, 2022 12:11 pmYet you feel entitled to be rude and condescending over a simple forum post so the irony is actually in you.licasto2 wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 9:04 pm lolz, you're calling someone else entitled? What sort of demand on a computer's resources does Ilok have?
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

And now some gossip:
Seems that iLok has been bought by Zuckerberg to have an additional entrance to peoples computers. Hell!

I've had minor issues with machine activation based iLok so I upgraded to the dongle for better reliability.
