The bridging is through Apple's built-in AUHostingCompatibilityService so yes it will work as AU in Live too - but it is not, in itself, native of course
whatever it is, I'm just showing its working...in spite of the consensus that it won't/can't work, the AU has been broken for years (I've been using the AU for years), or whatever else. Seems native enough. In regards to Ventura; whatever compatibility scripts wrappers magic or whatever is runnning, it runs and works when I'm running these hosts under native...so those things still work and seem stable. No performance issues to report.

Of course that graph is relevant. It illustrates just how long FireWire has been obsolete for, which is why it is no longer supported.
I don’t frankly give a f**k. I don’t even use FW. Stop quoting me and go away

You misunderstood my original post which was referring to me feeling old, not that I still used FW and now you’re just embarrassing yourself Go away and bore somebody else instead of mr.

What version is your AU plugin?
Where can we download it?

I had downloaded some beta of the AU before and it did not load on my M1 MacBook Pro.

A link and steps to get it working would be very helpful.

You've quoted me twice now, so perhaps you're the one who should be stepping away from the thread if you no longer want to interact with others on it.

Logic plugin manager reports it as version 2.0.7

AU info pane reports:
Version: 1.0.0, Copyright MLVST, 2012
Created: Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 15:43
4,509,851 bytes (4.8 MB on disk)

I didn't do anything special to get it working. I just installed it like anything else.
Where did I get it? Here likely. viewtopic.php?t=310856

Thanks. There's an active dropbox link in that thread:

This is where I had downloaded the AU version, in the folder "MAC-AU-discontinued"
I'll try it again. Maybe I need to register it in GarageBand first? (I don't use Logic.)

I was never able to get it to show up in my plugins menu before.

PG-8X is not showing up in GarageBand or Studio One.
Studio One didn't pick it up during plugin scanning.

This is the same problem I had before.
Is there some way to force AU validation?

So I got this email from Eventide this morning:
Eventide email wrote:Important Information about macOS 13 Ventura & Eventide plug-ins

Please Wait to Update to macOS 13 Ventura

Apple recently released the new macOS 13 Ventura. We have been testing macOS compatibility throughout the beta program, and at the moment are not yet fully compatible. While we expect to be fully compatible soon, we recommend waiting to upgrade to macOS Ventura if you are using Eventide plug-ins.
It would have been nice to have gotten this email a week or two ago.

there are numerous posts on Macrumors.com of people complaining about abysmal battery life since they switched to Ventura. Only solution that solved this was rolling back to Monterey, as even a clean install of Ventura was having the same huge battery drain on them.

From what I understand, battery drain is related to reindexing and resolves itself when it's finished.

yes, the indexing also happens with new iOS releases (and of course any new MacOS release too) though. this issue seems not to be related to that though.
one person claimed that he could make it somewhat better by disabling ProMotion, so he was "only" always at 60Hz, as his display was always running at a fixed 120Hz, even while watching movies at 24fps.

for what it's worth, the last iOS version prior to the current one also had worse battery life for me too

Apple x.0 releases are potentially problematic for boring, non-music related stuff too. Sure they’ll squash this quickly with an update.

yes, i personally wouldn't update that early either, but there are people who seemingly always feel the need to update to the latest ones immediately.

so i wanted to at least inform people who are yet on the fence to upgrade about this.
i'd always wait at least a couple of months, but personally feel no pressure to protract the upgrade even for much longer than that.
Heck, on Windows im still on version 7

Windows 11 wasn't that smooth of a ride for many either, especially initially

Sadly they didn't mention a list of any 'issues' anywhere either. So far I haven't run into any trouble with them, but I also dont have them all over everything either. The flanger and phaser seem to be working fine at least. Im using all the VST3s in Cubase 12 and I still got swirly swooshes on stuff here. I'll have to go check out some older Logic Pro projects that have the Band Delays and H3000 in em now.

Forgive me if this sounds reductive, pedantic, or condescending because it’s worked for me numerous times during the M1 transition so it would be surprising if this didn’t work for you. (i’ve also mentioned this maybe three or four times in my replies)

This has worked for TSE R47, Waldorf Largo, Soundtoys, and most other plugins i’ve had issues with.

Open your host in rosetta mode. (find your app, open info, check the box for rosetta if it’s there.). Open your hosts plugin manager, reset and rescan the offending plugin. Once it’s validated, quit the host, open that info pane again and uncheck the rosetta box. Open your host.

I use logic but you should be able to do this with garageband. Studio One also has a plugin manager.

Sorry this has been such an ordeal for you.

RE: eventide. The volume meters in H910 and H949 are a little sluggish. No other apparent issues.
