Heh, why not both? As long as you can switch between them or something...

LOL
well, at least in my eyes, he has been one of the most "important" guys FOR the plugin business for a very long time now.
i'll always be super grateful for the development of GURU alone. (fingers crossed that a hypothetical Nerve 2 will go more into that direction)
my other biggest heroes in these regards would be Stephan Schmitt and Urs Heckmann.

regarding these news about Dave being involved in Serum 2, i have to admit that i'm actually super stoked now and might actually get it this time around
Steve and Serum are very important, but Serum will always have a false stigma surrounding it because of how it's seen as an EDM toy. Go into any writing session, you will stumble upon an instance of serum 99.99% of the time.

Love Serum, love TrackComp. What could go wrong?

I intend to get Serum 2 once I have enough money for it. Serum in itself is very powerful.

Does this mean Vital2 is now in the works as well?
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

Serum 2 is free update?

Maybe Serum will finally go on sale lol.

I believe Steve lives in Mexico unless he moved back.

I think Steve said Serum 2 will be free update for Serum user.
So you can basically go Splice now and do that rent to own.

Serum was my first synth (like for many of us) and I still can’t replace it in terms of workflow and ease of use with all that complexity under the hood. It’s no less than genius, really. If it will be DSP evolutionized with analog non-linearity, I won’t bother use other synths, really 90% of the time. Hope I will be young and enthusiastic enough when it will be released :)

Steve is one of those people who wants to make good stuff not for making profits, it in his DNA and I respect it more than anything else.

as far as i know, Steve has mentioned multiple times that xfer product updates and upgrades will be free for a lifetime, once purchased.

on the flip side: at least Serum and Nerve are more on the expensive side by today's standards, though you could also rent to own them, (at least Serum does have that option)
and they became NFR a while ago.
The GAS is always greener on the other side!

Thanks for confirming, this is what I remembered it to be as well.
