I've just downloaded Waveform 12 free and started to play around with the Micro Drum Sampler. When I play any sample from the drum sampler in a fresh project file the sample will stop dead once I let go of the input, resulting in a weird sound artefact on the kick especially. However, when I use the Micro Drum Sampler as set up in the preconfigured EDM Template track, it will finish playing samples, and even overlap them if played in quick succession. If I change it from the 808 set to the 909 set or metronome, or even change then go back to the 808, it stops behaving in this desired way and starts cutting off samples. I've not got anything set up with choke groups anywhere.
Is this a bug? Given the choke group functionality I can't see this as desirable, and I can't find any setting that looks different between the drum sampler in the EDM template track and in a new project. If not a bug, I'm very confused and can't find anything to make it work the way I want to.
Waveform 12 Micro Drum Sampler samples stop dead?

I don't know if it's a bug in the software but the kit pieces are all set to ADSR mode (with no R) rather than One Shot. This is also true for the same kits (808 and 909) in the full Drum Sampler. TSC should definitely fix that. It sounds terrible.
In the meantime maybe you can make your own kits. It looks like samples added to pads will by default be One Shot. I found the 808 and 909 samples here:
C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming\Tracktion\Waveform\Factory Presets\Micro Drum Sampler
If you're not on Windows, I have no idea where you might find them. (Please, people, include your OS when asking for help.)

Surely there must be consensus by now...

Looks like I found another person with the same error. Yes, I have the same problem, periodically, when installing a plugin on a track, some synthesizer has only Attack left from the sound, when playing on a midi keyboard. It was treated strangely: some kind of clip from midi was played and the sound was played in full. So it was with the drum sampler and with many synthesizers.

I don't think it's the same error. The Mini Drum Sampler's presets are bad and need to be re-done by TSC.
I think what you're describing is a random MIDI issue where notes are truncated. This is usually solved by starting playback, which for some reason makes things work again.
Surely there must be consensus by now...
