I just love Waveform -I'd like to transition into using it for mixing more full time, but I absolutely cannot get used to the undo function not working for volume or panning in version 12!! GAHHH!!

-Anyway I can go back to one of the older versions?? I think I had 11.2 before and that one was PERRRRFECT...

I'm just a freebie downloader... Wouldn't have upped to 12, but I had to re-download when I got my new hardrive.

If I caaan't get 11.2... is there some plugin or something -Some other way I can "undo" my volume and panning moves??

Thanks, ya'll.

You can get 11.2.

Sign into your account on the Tracktion website. Click on MyDownloads. That'll bring up a list of what you've bought/dowloaded. Click to open the Individual Downloaders tab and then click on Waveform 11. That'll bring up downloads for assorted platforms, but also on the right side, on the same line as the latest W11 version (which should say v11.5.18) you'll see options for BETA, Archive, and Notes. Choose Archive. That'll give you a list of all versions of 11.

Note for others: editing the v=12 at the end of the URL allows me to get all the way back to version 4 (my laptop has versions 6-12 on it). I did buy all those versions (and v1.6 & v3), but if any later-comers want to try the same tweak, I'd be interested to know how far back you could get.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Darnit -Looks like I actually only ever downloaded Version 12 -That's as far back as I can go in my download acrchive. That's all that shows up...

I guess i've got 12.0 -12.1.8, but yeah...

Would 12.0 have the undo feature apply to vol and panning?? Man -Can't believe they did that. Just kills me... All I do is vol and pan!!!

The version of 11 that I have on my laptop is 11.5.18 and it won't undo adjustments to volume and pan but the versions of 10 and 6 allow it. I wonder if it was a deliberate change. Perhaps some of the Noted about changes for each release will tell us that. If it wasn't deliberate I think it should be reinstated.

My thoughts exactly! -It's such a basic function when I came to it, I thought to myself "This must be a bug or something. They must've forgot to re-install it when they were doing the update to version 12..."

Is there any way I could one of those versions?? -All I've got on my Tracktion account is the Waveform 12 versions... I'd really like to work more full-time in Waveform, but man -Can't really do without that undo function!

Thanks for taking the time...

I found a link to a bunch of version of 11! -Which is kind of cool -Is there a better version do you think?? One of the earlier ones has got to have the undo functions... What is this I hear about some of them being buggy, though?? There are, like, a million versions... Damn -Waveform (Well, I guess any Daw, really...) has got some history...

If you really want, 11.5.18 was reported by many to have some issues, so the .17 works better for most. Not sure about the undo feature.

Where do you get the files to adjust vol and pan for? If they were 12.x.x. files, you may not be able to open them or have issues... You can normally take files forward, but not back - depending on content in a project you may be able to move or import audio track data files.

Also, not sure about registration for a previous release not listed in your account. It may run in demo mode for a while.

Not sure what you mean by "files to adjust volume and pan" -I just want the undo feature to take care of vol and pan. I just do that a lot in my mixes -Make vol and pan adjustments and then undo them -I do that all the time during a mix...

Great point about registration for a previous version that isn't listed in my account. I'm sure you're right total bummer...

Damnit, Waveform!!!

The question was about how you got the content you are adjusting - do you record audio and mix from there, or does it come from MIDI .VST's... Or do you get a set of files from somewhere else. If someone gives you Waveform12 Files they may not open "normally" in Waveform 11. You can probably take the recorded audio files and copy/import the tracks from 12 into 11, tho.

Oh, oh, oh -Right, right. I see what you're saying, now...

I have been recording audio -Typical guitar, bass, band stuff. Sometimes I record in Reaper and just move those files over to Waveform to mix and sometimes vice versa... Although, I'm pretty much mixing exclusively in Reaper now, cuz I just can't seem to get over the "undo" thing in Waveform. Maybe that's an adjustment I need to make in my mixing approach, but nah... I dunno...

Who are the devs on this site?? -I heard one of them was lurking around here. I need to email them about this because it's just unacceptable to have a DAW that doesn't perform this basic function to me. I just, I can't really believe this... So weird, man...
