Thanks for your bug report! That should not happen of course. Would you mind to get in touch with contact@cableguys.com and also send us your system specs? There's an entry in the SB3 main menu for displaying the system info that you can copy.Fornicras wrote: Thu Nov 03, 2022 11:53 amAnyone?Fornicras wrote: Wed Oct 26, 2022 8:31 pm I'm having trouble with the demo on Studio One 5.
When ShaperBox 3 is open and I hit play, the play head lags and freezes/unfreezes from time to time. It's only visual though.
I activated OpenGL for ShaperBox and it kind of got rid of it but there is still a little amount of delay it creates within Studio One visually.
The same thing was happening on ShaperBox 2, too.

We just released ShaperBox 3.1 containing a new Oscilloscope Tool.
With a high-res waveform display that locks to beats and bars, audio or MIDI, the Oscilloscope Tool helps you visualise the dynamics of your music and pinpoint mix problems. External sidechain overlay enables you to easily compare any two tracks in your project, in real time. Further features include vertical Zoom, 0dB clipping indicator, and a Freeze function.
ShaperBox 3.1 with Oscilloscope is a free update for all existing users. Log in to download: https://www.cableguys.com/login.html
Check it out in Joe's video:

Was hoping this update would contain what I consider an absolute must and an obvious option, which is filtering presets to show only presets containing that shaper. If I’m clicking the dot to the right, selecting which shaper I’d like to see presets with, why on earth would it show me presets with that shaper and several more on top of it.
For example, if I click volume shaper, I’m looking to shape the volume, right? I opened it specifically to duck the bass or something like that, and want to see if any volume shaper presets would sound good. But with this new Shaperbox, it suggests presets containing volumeshaper, and then drive, noise, and phaser on top. To me, that makes absolutely no sense. Why even bother having a filter option? Am I crazy? This doesn’t have any use whatsoever.
This to me is just a preset device to smack on something and see what it craps out. Cableguys should really fix this in my opinion. I am extremely stoked on the changes they’ve made, and I bought it sight unseen when it came out. However, without this seemingly extremely basic feature, I haven’t switched from using shaperbox2 yet. It’s got my presets I’ve already made and it makes it easier to find new, PRACTICAL presets.
Hoping someone will tell me I’m completely blind, they added it to 3.1, and I missed how to do this.

I am a loyal pluginboutique customer for many years and I checked my account and my license comes from pluginboutique and is stored/registered there and usually download installers from pluginboutique, I am not going to cheat pluginboutique and you also get lots of bonus when you buy there (free plugin and tokens = money per purchase). I see, pluginboutique doesn't offer upgrade, this is very strange and in future I will better ask pluginboutique whether they will also offer upgrades before I buyLee / Cableguys wrote: Tue Nov 01, 2022 2:02 pmIf you bought ShaperBox 2 (or individual Shapers) on Plugin Boutique, you can upgrade at cableguys.com – just log in to your user account to see your deals: https://www.cableguys.com/login.htmlDCrown wrote: Tue Nov 01, 2022 10:18 amUff! Didn't see it at Pluginboutiqe.
Never was faced with upgrade issues like this ever as far as I remember

I'd guess you simply choose the Ducking category - then you only have VolumeShaper presets that do ducking, and none that do trance-gate, for example. The filters are an additional option, but we think that most of the time the categories are what matters.Artie5000 wrote: Sat Nov 19, 2022 12:31 am Was hoping this update would contain what I consider an absolute must and an obvious option, which is filtering presets to show only presets containing that shaper.

Anyway, we're working on adding more filter options.. in fact we had an implementation for 3.1 that we reverted shorty before release, because it did not feel just right yet; it's difficult to offer multiple ways of filtering, and at the same time to keep a slight UI. Anyway, we're trying another approach next week.

Awesome!
However, one vital feature of the scope is missing - freqency coloring or frequency band split. It is so much better to see where do low / high frequencies contribute, especially in drum loops or a full mix.

Awesome! As usual Cableguys hit in the right way everytime!
I have a small request if possible. Would be nice to see different sources without the need to sidechain the signal, but just opening other Shaperbox instances on other channels, like PsyScope Pro does, it's very handy

I can definitely see the need for it in let's say a Reverb plugin, but in ShaperBox presets are so manifold, that I wonder if it might be quite confusing.
But yes, it'd definitely be useful if you limit your browsing category; for example on browsing ducking presets and you already know that you only want a small amount of ducking; distortion presets if you only want a small amount of distortion..
But we also want to keep the UI streamlined. So I am not sure if the use cases justify making the UI more complicated; also for some presets a non-100%-Mix would give unexpected results (think of scratching presets for example or presets that already have only a small Drive or Noise amount that will then be barely audible).
Maybe if we add a global locking system, and Mix would be one of the options.. hmmm
But if something seems useful, we usually want to add it. Could you let me know why you need this feature? It seems valuable for me in a Reverb plugin for example, or in same cases for ShaperBox too, but for me it's only a small fraction of use cases that would benefit from it
