[FR] Syncing multiple instances of MXXX

TLDR; It would be nice if you could set one instance of MXXX as the leader and everything that is done inside it gets automatically synced to all follower instances.
There's a new plugin called KSHMR Chain that allows you to sync FX chains across multiple tracks. That's particularly useful if you have multiple takes that you want to apply the same processing to.
For example, if you have a vocal stack, you probably want to compress them individually, but with the same settings. With KSHMR chain, you only have to tweak the settings on one track in the leader plugin and they get replicated across all other tracks to the follower chains.
Here's a video explaining how this works. There's an example for guitars at 38:55 and at 42:50 there's an example of how the same plugin would sound on a folder/bus instead.
KSHMR chain loads VST/AU, so I can use MXXX inside it, but I think this would be a great option to have built into MXXX.

So like applying the same settings to all instances? Sorry, not possible. To be perfectly honest that more like asks for a dedicated plugin like he is demonstrating there. Personally I can't see much of a benefit to all that, but who knows.

Adding a compressor in the leader instance would add the compressor also to all follower instances. Changing the attack in the leader instance would also change the attack in all follower instances etc.MeldaProduction wrote: Tue Nov 22, 2022 12:06 pm So like applying the same settings to all instances?
The downside of a dedicated plugin is that it relies on automation data for the real-time updates. That means MXXX doesn't update in real-time unless you assign everything to a multi-parameter.MeldaProduction wrote: Tue Nov 22, 2022 12:06 pm To be perfectly honest that more like asks for a dedicated plugin like he is demonstrating there.
There's also a sync button that pushes all changes to the followers, but you have to press that every time you make a change that doesn't get reported as automation.
And the current version of KSHMR Chain doesn't have any parallel processing or modulation.
It's mostly useful if you work a lot with doubles i.e. stacking multiple recordings of the same part for a thicker and wider sound.MeldaProduction wrote: Tue Nov 22, 2022 12:06 pm Personally I can't see much of a benefit to all that, but who knows.
Compressing multiple vocal takes at once sounds very different from compressing them individually. But they are similar enough that you can use the same settings all of them.
Stacking a bunch of vocal takes is pretty common in pop and EDM.

Understood, there may be situations for that indeed. Well, another thing for the mixing revolution

I always think it can't hurt to ask, but I goes sometimes it can
But if the mixing revolution is truly revolutionary, you should finish it before someone else has the same idea.
