Thanks to Howard for this sweet tip using MIDI-learn on the ARP/SEQ ‘Steps’ selector, as suggested in the Hive manual's' "Arpeggiator & Sequencer Tricks" section (p 77) Love this very cool tip switching up those numbers of steps instantly creates quick and compelling strum effects and I'm sure will lead to a whole lot more

Vary sequence length: MIDI-learn the ‘Steps’ selector, then with a 16-step sequence running, quickly change the number of steps from 16 down to 2 or 3. Watch how the sequence runs backwards (!) until it can comply with the new setting. Keep performing...

Note: I briefly ran into a minor snag setting this up on my KeyLab 61 MK II due to the same user error I have made in the past because this Keylab MKII has so many options for which I haven't studied the documentation. I was trying to assign it to the wrong place but once I selected the correct bank of controls (USER) I discovered I now have way more faders and knobs I can assign to LEARN more controls YAY! Between this KeyLab and PUSH I feel pretty well covered for all my U-HE instruments (and other plug ins) and Bitwig (MOSS is the #PUSH4Bitwig Boss!) and all the other DAWs …still I remain curious whether picking up a little Komplete Kontrol keyboard controller would open any other possiblities? …pretty sure I recall seeing some banter about the support for those NHS units being up in the air what's the collective wisdom here?
and no joystick, either? :? likely best keep waiting for a decent/reasonably priced MPE controller

For those who don't know it, The Keylab mkII is already pre-assigned to ARTURIA instruments with the ANALOG LAB button and those all work perfectly well on my U-HE for obvious eg HIVE Macros and ZEBRA(s) X/Y' s etc… all/universal DAWs too (transport/Clip launch etc) + the USER bank(s) as mentioned above, most of which I have still left to assign.

Korg Kaossilator synth-on-an-XY tray, might have mapping internal assignments possible? and Korg Nanopads have the smaller x-y tray that could come in handy, used ones are pretty cheap.
I posted my Reaper/gamepad midi results in the Kling-Klong thread, great fun with the many mappings already in place. I added a Korg Nanokontrol 2 for sliders and knobs that weren't spring loaded as are the joysticks on my Logitech gamepad, and the combo works well together.
Me, myself, and I, being the limiting factors :(
Cheers

Way cool thanks for the link Glokraw… glad to see the Joystick dream is alive and well though TBH pairs of rotary knobs have sufficed for so long, it's not that big a deal.

There's still other things I haven't quite figured out with the arturia controller where I am guessing/ hoping/asking if a cheap/readily available Komplete Kontroller keyboard might do it?— e.g. scrolling through and switching presets on my U-He products without clicking a mouse.
AFIK we can't use "MIDILearn" to assign a controller to U-He's clickable preset arrows… or can we?

MK II does that with certain plug-ins (mostly Arturia collections) showing names on LCD with arrow tab key and scroll wheel usually and of course PUSH 2 does all this already - browsing selecting anything/everything and much more. Is this PRESET browsr/viewing something KK will do?… and.or is there anything else specific to U-HE? I've seen the NKS feature prominent in copy since forever but I still really don't know what's it all about. I downloaded a so-called NKS 'preview' from the site but remain none the wiser for it .Was expecting a jpeg but I guess it's likely a mapping controller script file for people who already own that hardware.
