I think the lead sits better in the mix now. Sounds good!

And yes, this is the first time I've heard the term
"disruptive ambient". Did you invent this term from
scratch yourself? I think that would be great. :o

In any case, the "disruptive ambient" Track "Tripwires" is:
beautifully relaxing and scenic!
I thought I did, but it appears in various places on the internet, specifically relating to the use of mobile devices for listening to music in public places.
enroe wrote: Thu Oct 27, 2022 12:23 pm The theremin is easy to hear. Is it too loud? Not necessarily.
In any case the theremin is most striking for the melodic
content. The slightly springy rhythm is beautiful. However,
one might think that there is a little too little "disruption"
in this track. :?: At least if you have the style description
"disruptive ambient" in mind.
I didn't want to take things too far by completely obscuring the ambient elements in the piece.

Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment, Andy. Glad you enjoyed it :)

This is very cool Tim. The underwater start is very evocative. I like the Theremin. The jittery synth (sort of a tuned percussion/bass) adds a lot of interest.
Well done!

i think it is very well done!
it is better to have a track with some mistakes than a track without any soul
myself in 2022

The beginning of this is Absynth and Reaktor, the Theremin is ACE, and the jitters are provided by Axon. The track was made in MuLab, which allows for all sorts of fancy routing possibilities.

Thanks very much for listening and commenting, John. Glad you liked it, and good to see you back here :)

Thanks Tim. Just needed a break and a chance to focus on other things. I'm glad to be back.

So many interesting intersecting sounds! The piece evolves surprisingly smoothly. I think the hats and the deep swelling pads somehow serve the functions of anchor and mover simultaneously. Thanks for sharing. :)

The successive addition of voices in the intro works really well. I really like the very beginning with the contrast between the singing bowl sound and the brassy sound. All around good sound design. Top notch track.
When the data is corrupt in the Desert of the Real, Beyond the Last Thought, where intuition reigns, is the solace that will embolden and strengthen the soul, giving hope once more to this age of failing technique. eassae.com

There's some really creative sounds throughout the song. I really like the gurgly, poppy sounds in the intro. I didn't hear the original mix but everything seems solid in the current mix. Maybe I'll try to let the rest of the songs play in the background tomorrow even though I know listening to this type of stuff will pull me back into the dark, ambient world.

A lot of the sounds appearing in the first couple of minutes are Absynth. I've owned it for about 5 years, but only started playing with it about 9 months ago. I think I've used it on most tracks I've made since then. I like the idea of using slowly "pulsing" pads with a long attack phase to provide a rhythmic base for ambient pieces.
