wagtunes,
Now listening to "The Dream I Had". Piano playing sounds quite good. Strings sound nice too. Drums are nice in the mix, I often struggle with that for some reason. The style of vocals give it more of a pop feel than usual. I can't help wonder if your singing might sound better than the somewhat artificial sounding male Emvoice. Female vocals sound a little more real to me. Anyway, the vocals also give it a 80's vibe, which is fine by me. Nice melodies per usual, and nice song!

Thanks for the listen and the feedback. I'm really surprised at the reaction this one has gotten. I was sure most people would hate it. LOL.enroe wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 6:23 am "It's all about me":
The text seems to me to be a way of describing the typical lifestyle of many
people today. In any case, it's very pointed, well done!
The song itself really succeeded: First only vocals and piano, then drums and
bass come in - a great increase. I would have wished for more in the chorus.
The guitar solo makes up for it - really good. The third part threatens to
become boring. But the acoustic guitar on the left, the electric guitar and
the female vocals keep the song interesting.
All in all: I'm thrilled! Really good song, the topic of the lyrics is conveyed
convincingly!

Thanks for the listen and the feedback Aaron. Yeah, synth vocals are never going to be as good as the real thing but sometimes I think the song calls for it.aaron aardvark wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 7:15 am wagtunes,

3rd track from an upcoming CD
On The Outside Looking In
Why do I always feel like I'm being left out
Why do I always feel like I'm the fool
Why do I always feel like my life's going nowhere
Why do I always feel like I'm just a tool
If only I could
Walk with the crowd
It's just no good
Cause I'm on the outside looking in
There's just no way that I can win
For them to let me play would be a sin
So I'm on the outside looking in
Why do I always fall for the trashy gal
The one who I never seem to land in bed
Why does she only want to be my pal
Maybe I'll get that gal when I am dead
If only she would
look uh my way
It's just no good
Repeat Chorus
One of these days I'm gonna break through
One of these days I'n gonna get you
One of these days my dreams will come true
Instrumental Break
Repeat Chorus

Good that! Always seem to like more the ones you do which are a bit more 'weird' (probably says more about me than you.... ). Not that this is avant-garde or anything, just a bit off the beaten track in terms of arrangement/changes etc. Nice.

Thanks DT. Yeah, this is definitely not one of my pop tunes. LOLdonkey tugger wrote: ↑Sat Nov 26, 2022 3:29 amGood that! Like tugger says I like your odder tracks too. Enjoyed this and the interesting arrangement and sounds.
One small thing: in the first stanza the lyrics are a bit rushed like you are trying to fit them into too small a space.
Nice "guitar" lines and backing choral.
Well done!

Good catch on the lyrics, though the problem is less with the actual lyrics and more with my lack of skill in singing fast songs. This is where a real singer could have pulled this off without anyone noticing. Most of the time I try to keep my sentences short. But for this song, that's what I had to say so I said it. Damn the consequences. LOL.Allomerus wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 8:19 am On the Outside Looking In

Mr. Wagtunes... I may have missed your comments on it but have you updated Vocaloid to version 6? I skipped over 5, version 6 looks promising but I haven't upgraded yet? Any thoughts? I recall that you were not impressed with Vocaloid 5 and I shared the same opinion.

Honestly, I haven't been keeping up with Vocaloid. I find Emvoice just sounds better. I'll still use V4 when I want those sounds but I just don't see the need to upgrade anymore unless V4 suddenly stops working, which is quite possible with each OS change.Scotty wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 8:46 pm Mr. Wagtunes... 4th track from my upcoming CD "Journey To The Other Side"
Diagnosis Murder
Start the investigation
No time for hesitation
Crime scene the revelation
Everybody stand clear cause we got a stiff here
Diagnosis murder
Okay men you heard her
Someone killed the plot of this here song
Gotta solve the crime boy
Else there will be no joy
Musically this whole thing's just all wrong
Started in key of D flat
Now look at where this song's at
Takin it to the damn mat
Started with a pop tune ended with a racoon
Repeat Chorus
I don't know how we can get on track
If we can't the fans will want their money back
Instrumental Break
Repeat Chorus
