T6 and Win11

Friend needs to stick with T6 but needs new computer and wants to know if T6 will run under Win11.

I run T6 64-bit with no problem under Win10 Pro 64-Bit 21H2 with no problems.

Well, a lot of music software does NOT run well under Win11. I would be very, very cautious with T6...assuming we're even talking about the 64-bit version. Your friend might well be the first person to try, so keep that in mind.

Also, not sure how the license will work. Some were based on some combination derived from CPU, memory, disk models; some by other forms that may not still be available.

Not making any recommendations at all. Don't listen to me..... But I upgraded from 10 to 11 on my laptop ages ago and 6 worked fine. If I remember I'll run it on my pc at the weekend, as thats fully up to date (Windows 11)

I truly understand that another person's experience is not -- and cannot be -- dispositive of the question, but if everybody chimed back with a "no, I tried and it would not work for me" then I would suggest to my friend that she not even bother gambling. It is still possible to get a new desktop with Win10 loaded and MS support will continue to at least Oct 2025, so there is that . . . . .

Sigh . . . . . .I had such hope for Waveform 12. T6 is rock stable, lets me optimize each feature of the color scheme for my aging eyes and all my UAD plugins work flawlessly on the two OCTO cards. As mentioned in a different topic of time there are a few Waves plugins that would speed my workflow (I hate drawing automation) but those Wave plugins poof-crash Waveform12. Unless something has happened my best information is that the Waves developers have told the Waveform developers point-blank that they will not work with them to make Waveform a supported DAW. I also find the right-clik context menus getting a little crowded/messy, but I have to respect and assume that devotees have probably asked for these shortcuts over the years.

For Peter W -- I have a backup Win10 box in the closet that will not be deployed in my work office until a current box fails. Hmmm, maybe I should upgrade it to Win11, install T6, and see if it works. Then I can roll it back. If T6 works under Win11 she may have to buy a new interface that uses a Win 11 driver but she was wanting to update her interface anyway so . . . . . . Hmmmmm

Not a bad plan. WARNING: always experiment with backup projects. T6 will not open any T7 or Waveform projects.

And if you open a T6 project in any later version, you won't be able to easily re-open it in T6.

Just sayin' - you may be running T6 in demo mode, unless you can register it somehow. I had T3 on an old computer and it died. Loaded onto a new computer, but couldn't register it (mind you, that was after Mackie had abandoned it). Still, somehow you have to get T6 registered if you don't want the annoying hiss popping after the demo period (unless there was a free version of it still available?)

T6 is working on my pc, Windows 11, latest updates. I didn't have any trouble registering it either, so I have it registered on 2 Windows 11 machines. Basically all I am using it for is to export stems from old projects with 32 bit plugins, and that has been working so far.

Thanks much for that info; it is promising.

And to Pete W, over the many many years the post-Mackie owners have been great at authorizing new installs of T6 whenever I build a new box or have to replace a motherboard, etc. I just built a new "super computer" 3-4 months ago, alerted Waveform with a ticket, got a positive reply, installed T6 and it went up to the home site checked my credentials and I was good to go. Each and every time I offer to pay a new full rate license fee and they refuse to bill me.
