That's what I said. Oberhausen at least comes reasonably close though (I tried to replicate a few of the sounds in the video). The Gforce... not so much. Lacks resonance and bottom end.

I would post the link, but, I'm not sure if it's maybe customer specific. I.e. how they distinguish who took the survey, through the link or via IP/cookies/whatever.

Maybe because I only bought one of the Models so far (72)
But I own volume 5 and console one...

I distinctly remember the first version of Sem having the Oberheim logo on it and name. Does that count as endorsing?

You definitely own a lot more than I do then.rasmusklump wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 7:06 pm Maybe because I only bought one of the Models so far (72)

My guess is that they do the survey randomly then.

I am not sure that Tom had rights to the
name back then.
Gibson and Behringer had it till relatively recently I believe.
https://musictech.com/news/tom-oberheim ... s-ob-e-v2/Though other VST instruments have borne the Oberheim logo before, this is the first time Oberheim’s name has appeared on a soft synth since being given back the trademark by Gibson in 2019.

Unless their next one isn’t on the list.Vortifex wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 1:34 pm Just a thought, but I suppose this poll means their next synth is quite some way away.

I think that's the best thing about it - I can resize the browser window to a more useful size/shape and I can tweak a patch without having to close the browser. I wish everyone did it like that.Vortifex wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 1:34 pmPersonally, I hate the fact that it opens a new window instead of just existing inside the synth.
What is it about this demo that you like because it doesn't sound like anything special to me, and I love the SEM sound. The only part I like is the start of the section titled "Sequence with a lot of tweaking". That's a good, fat bassline sound but stuff like the Hard Sync doesn't sound good at all.hebex wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 6:41 pm I´ve tried both G-Force and Brainworx and they don´t come anywhere close to this demo.
What you do hear is the superiority of SEM's filter over those shitful ladder tings everyone else was doing. Just listen to the notes he holds at around 30-40 seconds into the video. You can hear how the resonance puts a big boost into the bottom end once the envelope gets to the sustain point. It's something you simply cannot do with most other filters.

If there’s a company that knows modeling, and a company that knows modeling, it’s Softube. There’s an obvious hole in the offerings at the moment: a good ARP 2600 emulation. Softube is really uniquely position to knock that out of the park.

Just please give the option for polyphony and not restricted to mono only.zerocrossing wrote: Mon Dec 12, 2022 3:52 am If there’s a company that knows modeling, and a company that knows modeling, it’s Softube. If it can get them to design a halfway decent cable patching interface that they can integrate into Modular, I'm all in favor.zerocrossing wrote: Mon Dec 12, 2022 3:52 am If there’s a company that knows modeling, and a company that knows modeling, it’s Softube.
