Mine crashed first time I loaded it, but has since settled. What version are you using?kylebenjamin wrote: Fri Dec 09, 2022 11:53 pm Not sure about the other Reaperites out there, but it's crash central for me. I have only had one crash (when I was messing with a plugin, not WM). 17 instances no problems.
I can bang some midi notes in, loop that and mess with WM to create the sounds ... no issues.
You did stick the vst3 in the correct place? c:\program files\common files\vst3
Must be something odd in your version? I am on the latest version. Maybe try setting up a "portable install" of reaper (check the box on the installer and put it somewhere new, then you don't muck up your existing version). Could be an odd config thing, you never know ...

Just skimmed over the thread.
Seems like in a little side discussion FrequencyShifters were en passant made "legal". Funny, how these rulez are interpreted.
FrequencyShifters shift all frequencies by a fixed amount in herz. they are different to "pitching" a note which keeps the harmonical relations intact. That means the result is nothing a synth can create on it's own. From my side a clear NO to FrequencyShifter.
Or can I plug a shifter into a reverb feedback slot in bitwig? I promise I only set it to mild shifting ... he he he.

That's good to know. Thanks for the info. I'm using Reaper 6.71 on a Macbook Pro. Granted, my Macbook is 10 years old...abot81 wrote: Sat Dec 10, 2022 11:44 amMine crashed first time I loaded it, but has since settled. Hey there!
Here's my happy little submission:
https://soundcloud.com/mylofymusic/mylofy-bye-manuel
A bit early, but my vacation is coming up
yayyy!
I wanted to test Zrythm again, but Manuel was perhaps not the best candidate due to his crashy nature. Not as bad as the experience of others around here, but I've seen Manuel saying "Bye" many times (hence the title). Zrythm was very forgiving, I didn't have to roll back the project anytime.
Lots of printing tracks to audio involved here! The higher the FM ratio the worse the performance.
Here are the details:
21 instances of Wave Manuel via yabridge/wine.
DAW: Zrythm 1.0.0-beta.4.5.1 on ArchLinux
Effects:
-airwindows ToTape5
-Texturize
-Calf Compressor
-x42-dpl Limiter
-LSP Parametric Equalizer
-Dragonfly Reverb
-ZaMultiCompX2
-ZamCompX2
-Calf Vintage Delay
Master Bus:
-LSP Parametric Equalizer
-LSP Compressor
-ToTape5
-LSP Limiter
-x42-dpl
Enjoy

I literally almost forgot to see what's up this month...

Well, will you look at this!
First Glance Report
PRO:
• in Cubase 12 it instantly runs just fine. (Win 11)
• Love the concept. Extremely promising.
• Waveform visualization is perfect to me!
• Sounds great!
CON:
• Missing sustain pedal support
• Missing pitch envelope (would be great!)
• Noise + envelope (would be great!)
• Keytracking somehow... not sure how, yet, but it would be brilliant!
This is just at first glance (literally 10 minutes). But I've already managed to make some really wonderful sounds that sound crisp, clean and are perfectly playable. I'm very positively surprised, judging by the look of it
which isn't exactly "modern", but it's extremely well readable and very nice to use. As I said above: "Love the concept!".
With the requested features added this could be a most wonderful workhorse synth for many projects!
Manuel, you're truly on to something here. I hope you'll get the troubles with other DAWs worked out swiftly and with enough energy left to bring this baby home for it is one gorgeous swan in the making!

I was ok till about 16 instances in Reaper. Now I'm getting regular crashes. I've had to set Reaper to auto-save a backup every 60 seconds! And it's needed! I won't be able to add any more to this tune. Just polish up what I have.kylebenjamin wrote: Fri Dec 09, 2022 11:53 pm Not sure about the other Reaperites out there, but it's crash central for me. That's a lot of auto-saves! Smart move though. Regarding the limited instances, I've often found that having constraints can be quite beneficial.silverpants wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 8:50 pmI was ok till about 16 instances in Reaper. On a different topic, did I miss the part where we learned how to save presets (assuming that's possible)?

You can save and load presets using the plugins browser functions. I think every DAW should have it? This is usually located right above the plugin interface.kylebenjamin wrote: Mon Dec 12, 2022 2:29 am On a different topic, did I miss the part where we learned how to save presets (assuming that's possible)?

Here is my submission
https://soundcloud.com/gethiox/gethiox-wave-osc-166
DAW: Bitwig
Wave Manuel instances: 39 (excluding per-voice instances)
Built-in plugins:
EQ+, Tool, Dynamics, Delay-2, Filter, Compressor, Peak Limiter
External Plugins:
kHs Filter, ValhallaSupermassive
For anyone looking for a decent noise source I found mine at C8, FM ratio 16:1, FM sustain level ~0.85 and bit of EQ, another idea is to pass pitch-bend sweep through reverb.

Who said, that you cannot do drums/percussions with it? Okay It's not perfect, but I think my rhythm section is not to bad... enough for ending up where I end up in the line up.
And as I alreay stated - The Synth works like a charm in Bitwig 4.4.1 and 4.4.4 on my Win10 and Win11 systems. Thanks Mr. Manuel! Great Synth. At first sight I sighed ... but then Manuell an me quickly became friends.
Details will follow:
