I'm trying to use rewire to connect tracktion with gigastudio 3 with vsl opus1. opus1 has a midi performance tool that you have to pump the midi through via their virtual midi router. so it goes like this: delta ap->midi track in trackition->midi router 1 out-><-performance tool midi router in 1->gigastudio. I see the meters moving in tracktion, but hear no sound. if I change the track output to the default audio output, I hear sound but get no performance tool (legato) I got the demo of cubase and did the exact same thing and it worked fine..I just hate the cubase interface and really want to use tracktion...help me obi wans you're my only hope...for real...if someone can help me out with this I migh be inclined to paypal you a little somethin' somethin'. thanks.

yeah it's enabled...it's almost like no midi is getting to the performance tool...just going straight through to gigastudio, even though I've specified the correct routing...I mean is rewire pretty solid on tracktion? is there something totally obvious I'm missing? and thanks for the bump.

I'm sure it's something totally obvious. I should get myself some sort of rewire device or at least install the demo of Reason (if one's available) so that I can learn about this stuff. Then again, I'm sure Gigastudio 3 is a bit more complicated to set up than Reason...
or is it?...
Anyhow, friendly bump again. I'm curious to know, too.

it's not really that complex...it is a bit of a pig for system resources though....yeah still just cubase working, no tracktion yet...if ANYONE has any suggestions or really knows rewire in and out...please let me know...

I don't have Gigastudio, & don't use re-wire..
I do know however, that you need to use the "re-wire" filters in Tracktion to use re-wire devices: when I set up my friend with Reason I discovered that a single re-wire filter could route MIDI from Tracktion to Reason, and at the same time bring the audio back into T.. could that be the bit you're missing?

There are a few vst plugs can route audio between two programs, but that probably won't sync up perfectly. (tobybear/dfx/Jaltoh's Soundbus - all these plugs are Windows only though)
I have no idea how giga 3 works. But I suspect you're looking at the wrong place to begin with. It seems to me your virtual MIDI port proggy is a, ugh, virtual MIDI port application which has little to do with Rewire.
Are the virtual MIDI ports showing up in the MIDI device settings page of Tracktion? If they are there(check the settings page to make sure they are enabled), it probably can work after all.

yes they virtual midi ports are showing up in the enabled devices..however, they are NOT showing up in the midi bus in the rewire filter configuration box. and I believe that's where they would need to be for this to work properly. I can fire up giga, use the midi out via the router into the performance tool and from the performance tool, into giga, and that works like a champ...but then I can't bring the audio from giga back into T (note I'm not using rewire to do this) When I do use rewire for giga...those virtual ports don't show up and I can't use the performance tool, it just goes straight into giga.

couldn't be something silly like the order you launch the apps?
Like I said, I don't use re-wire..

I use rewire, just not giga. In FL there is really nothing fancy about any of it, it just works.

well technically it works if it goes JUST to gigastudio...but I need it to go through the midi router and then into gigastudio. I've found a way around it, a little bit of a pain, but still easier than the alternatives...just going to have to not use rewire at all and go through the soundcard mixer into an audio track. If I turn it up too lound I get a little feedback(I think...it's hard to tell) oh well...maybe in t2?:)
