What are your guesses about the (future) plugin price? I think they also can't ask too much for it, as it could get into Pigments range.aMUSEd wrote: Sat Dec 03, 2022 8:38 amThey have to be careful though that the plugin doesn't undermine sales for the hardware - so I don't think it will be software only for a good while yet - eventually yes, probably. With the hardware it's an added value, but selling it on its own I can see some people thinking if they just use it with a decent midi controller they would probably be 90-95% able to do what the hardware could do so why bother with the hardware as well.SLiC wrote: Sat Dec 03, 2022 8:30 am They will definitely sell the plug in, there is already a buy button that goes to a 404 page (which is a bit sloppy), I think they just wanted to give it to the hardware purchasers first…not sure how long they plan to wait…but I don’t think it will be long, it’s easy money for Arturia as it’s the people who don’t own the hardware that really want this!

Speaking as someone who likes hardware (and owns too much of it!) there is pretty much a software version or equivalent of pretty much everything I own in hardware...it didn't stop me buying the hardware! Just make it available to buy Arturia, it won't affect hardware sales, especially as the Minifreak has been out a while so initial GAS is over!

Created another video of our MiniFreak. This time "17 other things you should know about your Arturia MiniFreak". Perhaps you find something useful in it. Enjoy!

Has anyone already got his hardware version - and can tell if the connect/usage along with the VST version works fine without any issues?
Would be great to know, looks like the probably best synthesizer deal of the year. Specially since many other synths in the same price range got +30-50% on retail price increase (Minilogue, Argon8 etc)

I was disappointed to see that they nerfed the demo version completely (why even offer it then?), since I wanted to give the engine and sounds a try before deciding to buy one. Maybe Guitar Center will have some in stock to do a store demo with..

Yes, got one, as we were so fortunate to create a couple of factory patches for the MiniFreak. It is an amazing piece of kit for usCyforce wrote: Tue Dec 06, 2022 11:54 pm Has anyone already got his hardware version - and can tell if the connect/usage along with the VST version works fine without any issues?

"Works fine without any issues?", well that's probably not the case as it is a bold claim. But from our experience: No problems here. We are working on Windows 10.
In fact we just released a new sound bank for it called Untold Stories Vol.1 with 64 fresh new custom patches that were created on the hardware and backupped via MiniFreak-V, so for us that worked perfectly.

Thanks for the info. Will probably order one Minifreak soon
And some very lovely sounds in the preset bank demo, like the 8-bit Event pad, well done

Got the chance to play one of these last week and can say that I was very impressed. Almost like a mini work station with so many sound options (engines). It would take some time to learn- I couldn't figure out how to change the arpeggio divide, for example, but it sounds great especially in the string plucking sounds I was playing.
Not for me though, as I have my eye on something more obscure.

If you can get hold of it second hand, you could try the MicroFreak first retrolab. But you will miss the effects and the second oscillator and a bigger matrix to name a few things, but it won't break the bank
If money isn't an issue, we would go for the MiniFreak since it has so much more to offer.

Sounds very cool. The price is nice. The amount of parameters available allows one to achieve versatile creation.

Proud (and indebted owner) of it. It's actually more capable in hardware than I expected. I knew it had 6 voice polyphony and a second oscillator. What I didn't know is that Oscillator 2's effects are polyphonic - different level of effect per key once you set up some modulation. Also, different engine per step if you program the sequencer -- you can change oscillator engines on osc 1 or 2 per step. Awesome stuff.
