On M1 Mac I would prefer to use the VST3 as VST2 is deprecated so I have not installed it (also for NKS Komplete Kontrol only supports VST3 now in native mode). There are plenty of MPE supporting VST3 plugins - some of the best in fact including Equator 2 and Plasmonic that don’t even have VST2 versions so it is possible.kv331 wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 7:01 am Please test MPE with the VST2 / AU versions. VST3 has a lot of issues with MIDI.

Markus from Tone2 mentioned there are issues with VST3 development that make it tough to work with MIDI and MPE. I am sure it's much the same for other developers.

Yup, I can confirm vst2 is working nicely here.
And Markus mentioned several times he's going to support clap for that reason...

I can’t think of many more accomplished MPE plugins than Equator 2 and Plasmonic, not to mention Vital, Respiro and many others, all VST3 (most don’t even have VST2 versions on Mac at least)Examigan wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 12:52 pm Markus from Tone2 mentioned there are issues with VST3 development that make it tough to work with MIDI and MPE. Yes of course it is possible. It is also a royal PITA to get right, and continues to be a PITA. Just because it's possible doesn't mean it isn't an undue strain on developers.aMUSEd wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 3:32 pmI can’t think of many more accomplished MPE plugins than Equator 2 and Plasmonic, not to mention Vital, Respiro and many others, all VST3 (most don’t even have VST2 versions on Mac at least)Examigan wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 12:52 pm Markus from Tone2 mentioned there are issues with VST3 development that make it tough to work with MIDI and MPE. To be fair, a number of developers DID say "M1 compatible" when they meant it worked fine with Rosetta 2.kv331 wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 11:46 amWhy this assumption ?????? If we say "M1 compatible" we FULLY support it, not via Rosetta 2.zzz00m wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 1:31 am The web page says "M1 Compatible" so I would be skeptical of native support...
FYI, our codebase already supported ARM processors since we had to compile for ARM processors on iOS.
But to be fair again, ahem, https://asaudio.tech. Synthmaster was posted there as soon as it went native.

Right now my entire focus is on SynthMaster 3 development. Once it has matured, I'll add MPE support to the VST3 version as well.

I'm really surprised I haven't stumbled upon Synthmaster before. I haven't seen it being mentioned along the big boys that much. And I've been on a lookout for a synth for a few months now.. No more as it seems - the sound is crazy! Presets are amazing, I'm getting used to the workflow very fast and it's been a real pleasure working with it. It's an end-game synth for me, not buying anything else, great thing!

On the previous page, I asked you about tooltips, do you plan to make it, or I can just throw out Synthmaster?

Well in all fairness to KV331, even though he did not address your question directly, I believe that his response to another question about SM2 development answers your question. He implies that there will be no further development for SM2 since all focus is on SM3 now.Alex_Longard wrote: Sat Dec 17, 2022 4:12 pm Kv331

I am just interested in: at least such tooltips will appear in Synthmaster3, or this synth is considered an unsuccessful purchase...

Synthmaster is for sure my fav synth. Massive X would be #1 if it had real MSEGs, and Icarus would be tied with synthmaster if its MSEGs had sustain points that didn't force you to loop through to the very end.kPere wrote: Fri Dec 16, 2022 9:10 am I'm really surprised I haven't stumbled upon Synthmaster before. So if a synth doesn't have tooltips it isn't worthwhile? There is a manual you can use.Alex_Longard wrote: Sat Dec 17, 2022 5:33 pm Zzz00m
