Seems like there are lots of VST3 issues - plugin resizing problems, cpu spikes, synths sounding different after bounce.
The only VST3 I wanted to use is OPXPROII and when you add it to the rack the amp release sounds like it is on max because the sound rings out forever and does it as you switch through presets.

It'd be much appreciated if you contacted support about this or joined the public beta (https://www.reasonstudios.com/beta-test/signup) and reported any issues there.hurricaneaudiolab wrote: Tue Dec 20, 2022 4:15 am Seems like there are lots of VST3 issues - plugin resizing problems, cpu spikes, synths sounding different after bounce.

We already have a 12.5.1 that's being worked on as we've gotten some reports of issues that we've also fixed, but could definitely be more stuff lurking. With the number of plugins out there and the somewhat loose relationship many have to the VST3 SDK/API, it's pretty hard to get really wide test coverage so we appreciate any extra help!

This is the problem with Reason right now, it taken 3-4 years to to try and catch up with the 'basics' people expect in 2022 (resize, hi-def, VST3, M1 etc) and during that time no real 'DAW' improvements whilst all other DAWS move ahead with new features and improvements...that said I am happy enough using the rack in Bitwig and Studio One right now...
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I contacted RS support before I posted here, however, much like the VST2 release, I've gotten the "it's not our fault, it's the VST developer's fault" response:Anosou wrote: Tue Dec 20, 2022 9:36 am

"Sorry to heat that you have issues with this. Please make sure you have the most recent update for this VST installed and double check with the manufacturer of it if they are aware of any issues and if they know of any work arounds. I'm afraid that when a specific vst have an issue in Reason we can rarely do anything to fix it." -RS Support

Oh I'm sorry about that! Since VST3 is newly released, that response needs updating to account for this and I'll let them know. I'm certain we have some bugs lurking that are not on the plugin developer (though to be fair that still happens, found several during beta testing).hurricaneaudiolab wrote: Tue Dec 20, 2022 4:13 pmI contacted RS support before I posted here, however, much like the VST2 release, I've gotten the "it's not our fault, it's the VST developer's fault" response:Anosou wrote: Tue Dec 20, 2022 9:36 am

I'd really appreciate it if you could sign up for the beta and report any findings through the bug report form there, that way they go straight to our QA team (and, by extension, me for prioritization later). The beta channel is also updated more often and has a new bugfix update out for testing this week. It'd also be great if you got in touch with the developer anyway in case they are aware of any issues or just to make them aware they can now test their plugins with a new host and potentially identify things.

The RRP was an excellent move. Love using it in both Ableton & Pro Tools (thanks for listening to the AAX request!).SLiC wrote: Tue Dec 20, 2022 9:47 amThis is the problem with Reason right now, it taken 3-4 years to to try and catch up with the 'basics' people expect in 2022 (resize, hi-def, VST3, M1 etc) and during that time no real 'DAW' improvements whilst all other DAWS move ahead with new features and improvements...that said I am happy enough using the rack in Bitwig and Studio One right now...
Some things aren't possible, or not as fun, in the plugin though and are just so well integrated in the standalone. But I always end up pulling my hair out when navigating around the sequencer. In no other DAW do I zoom and scroll so much around to get (back to) where I want
Zoom into selection, but not back. Just toggles back to "fit everything", which is not where I was.
Zooming a track in edit mote affects the track height when exiting edit mode.
"Global track height" doesn't affect new tracks.
Horizontal zooming centers around mouse pointer, vertical zooming is anchored at top.
Zooming on trackpad (Mac) is unusable.
Maybe it's just me who never found the correct workflow

Please consider releasing Reason 12 Intro with HD graphics, I would gladly pay for the upgrade as I use the rack in FL Studio all the time.Anosou wrote: Tue Dec 20, 2022 9:36 amIt'd be much appreciated if you contacted support about this or joined the public beta (https://www.reasonstudios.com/beta-test/signup) and reported any issues there.hurricaneaudiolab wrote: Tue Dec 20, 2022 4:15 am Seems like there are lots of VST3 issues - plugin resizing problems, cpu spikes, synths sounding different after bounce.

Subscribing or paying for the full version to get HD graphics are not options for me.

It's unbelievable how slow Reasons development has become over recent years... still waiting for the basics after 22 years.

I think the hope for a lot of us long term Reason users is that these past few years of core development will lead to a better foundation where future updates will be easier to implement.THE INTRANCER wrote: Tue Dec 20, 2022 10:56 pm It's unbelievable how slow Reasons development has become over recent years... still waiting for the basics after 22 years.

Well, after install and rather long scan process, Reason found only 2 incompatible Vst 3 plugins on my M1 Mac
Now that we have vst3 sorted, PLEASE get M1 Native ASAP please…

I find it a bummer that Reason Rack plugin cannot host plugins... it degrades it´s usefulness by a lot imho and honestely I do not understand...
Every plugin that was made as a kind of plugin version from a DAW was and is able to... just Reason...

Just installed the latest version and it seems to be scanning VST3 plugins so I guess it's out of beta (I had turned off VST2 scanning so I hope I can do the same with VST3)

I loaded the VST3 in Unify and it works correctly. I'll wait to see what you guys say before I bother the developer.Anosou wrote: Tue Dec 20, 2022 6:50 pm It'd also be great if you got in touch with the developer anyway in case they are aware of any issues or just to make them aware they can now test their plugins with a new host and potentially identify things.

I don't really mind RRP not being able to host plugins... what really bothers me, though, is it having the internal sampling capabilities turned off for no reason at all (pun intended)Trancit wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 10:51 pm I find it a bummer that Reason Rack plugin cannot host plugins... it degrades it´s usefulness by a lot imho and honestely I do not understand...
