I just got a notification of 3x new downloads for Tracktion Waveform Pro 12 (Band Essentials, Essential Drums and Solo Orchestral) but no details were given as to what these downloads are for. Anyone got an idea?

If you manually run the installers it tells you the release notes. You can also read the notes from the tracktion download portal at https://marketplace.tracktion.com/downl ... /products/. After logging in go "individual installers" and find the one you are interested in then click the "notes" link, this will then give you all the release notes history.

They seem to be content for... something. Probably the sampler/rompler but I don't know. It looks like there might be more options there now. Does anyone have a list from before downloading these 3 new content packs?
Surely there must be consensus by now...

they're presets which can be found in the selectors of Multi Sampler and Drum Sampler. They are also listed in the (B) browser under Presets. Also in the browser, there are demos of some of those under Clips and Samples.

these appear to simply be renamed versions of what was previously available as Multi Sampler Content, Multi Sampler Content2, and Waveform Drums.Jason_ZA wrote: Wed Aug 10, 2022 7:21 pm I just got a notification of 3x new downloads for Tracktion Waveform Pro 12 (Band Essentials, Essential Drums and Solo Orchestral) but no details were given as to what these downloads are for. now I have them installed twice.
i don't really understand what is going on at Tracktion right now. we have not had any updates on Waveform 12 pro since it was dropped. there is a single beta with fixes (for months) which has not been released officially. and now we get renamed content with no explanations. installing them to find out that they just duplicate everything on your hard-drive that you already had installed. what is the point?

Thanks for the update, @JamminFool. I agree that the Tracktion team seem to have been rather quiet since the initial release of Tracktion Waveform 12... Any new downloads should include info/a changelog, so that users are informed about what the download is about.

Isn't there a way to mark options like these unwanted, anymore?

As was said in other thread, looks like devs are working on engine https://github.com/Tracktion/tracktion_ ... ee/develop and I guess on porting Waveform to JUCE 7

I doubt it very much. The website has just had a redesign, for one thing.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Similiar question on an even more general note:
I have Waveform PRO 12, installed the Download Manager today and discovered that it lists a lot of additional software (multiple "Essentials...", Collective, Imagina Drum Loops, Solo Orchestral) with an "Install" button.
1. Is this additional free software or only demo offers?
2. If free, do I miss anything by not installing any of these at first?
Generally, my focus for Waveform is more on developing ideas and not so much on mixing.

1. Something is paid, something is free.
The sample packs are all free, if my memory serves me right. Plugins for an additional fee.
2. You choose what to install.
