Could we have a text field that displays the current name of the selected VST that can also be edited here?
Thanks

You can rename a specific used VST via its right-click menu -> Rename.
That will rename that selected instance only.

Ok didn't think of R-clicking the name! What do you mean by "That will rename that selected instance only"?
Will it change the name shown in the browser?

Could you at least add ability to double click the name to allow quick renaming please?

You can also rename a VST plugin in the database, then that name will be used whenever you plugin that VST. From there on there still is the individual rename option for each plugged in instance.

I did figure that out, thanks Jo. Just would've been a tad easier if you could double click to rename, like you can with Racks and Tracks.
Maybe something to add to that long wish list! Hopefully it's something you could add when considering some minor FR's later on... :tu:

Double-clicking a module (eg VST) opens the editor of that module.

Not in the Plugin Manager it doesn't ;) That's what I was requesting :)

I tried that before and it caused problems with my patches I created before renaming the plugins - as far as I remember MuLab couldn't find the VST dlls.

When you save a project with a VST plugin, MuLab saves the VST plugin name so to retrieve it upon loading the project. If you change the name of the plugin after you saved a project, MuLab will indeed not find the plugin as the names don't match anymore. It would exactly be the same as if you would have renamed the DLL itself. When that situation occurs then simply relocate the missing plugin and resave the project so that the project file refers to the up to date plugin name.

Yes, that worked, but I decided to stick with the original names to keep things simple.
