Anyone else get an email from ASDR saying they can't honour their Nectar 3 order?

I don't wish ADSR any financial harm, it's understandable that they need to void the licenses, so be it

Got that email.
I've already redeemed and installed Nectar 3.
It was obviously a huge f**k up and it could really cost them. I'm not sure about their legal position if the transaction is already completed.
They offered me their drum machine plus expansions for 12.50 which I accepted. I don't think ADSR could eat that level of a loss and it was obviously an error.
Also I wasn't particularly impressed with Nectar
I have any amount of compressors, de-essers, gates etc and have melodyne studio and waves harmony and lots of various reverbs.
So I haven't really lost out on anything that could be replaced with something considerably better.

impressed that youre taking a pragmatic approach to this whole debacle. I never used Nectar much even though I purchased the Komplete Izotope bundle last year.I started working with a great pop female vocalist this year and I have to say Nectar is great in dialing in a radio ready vocal sound instantly. Just something to consider if a real opportunity arises and you do this kind of workkraster wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 11:11 pmmidi sentinel wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 10:34 pmYes. I recieved the mail from ADSR also
In my case its already registrerd by Izotope, and the license tramsfered to iLok, and installation completed on PC
Lets see if they can do anything to trouble me, more than they already have
I don´t think their legal position enables them to back out ,.. sales are final ,.. at least where I am comming from
We all make mistakes, but this is very unprofessional, the error is on their side, if they can´t deal with their stuff
they must make some kind of insurance, or just a methode to avoid such errors ,.. or close the shop
Also I don´t like their way of communication, and suggestions "to give me something else", I have no interrest in that
I feel intimidated that they intend to put things into my account, as dispensation, becourse I dont accept this solution,
and I never asked or agreed into this
In my opinion they just made their mistake 100 times worse than it was, but setting all this into scene
As for the offer being "to good to be true", no way, there have been crazy deals before, both Izotope and others

The mistake was too dumb. And the mail doesn't seem too professional. You know, they offered a "Drum Machine Bundle" but they don't show you any videos or links about it... same with the four expansionsyorubamonk wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 10:21 pm Anyone else get an email from ASDR saying they can't honour their Nectar 3 order?
I think I think it is a rather strange and inexperienced apology and compensation.
It leaves a lot to be desired, beyond the error, it is disastrous.
I would like to say that I'm upset but more than upset I'm embarrassed. And I'm not talking about the money, brother, we know it wasn't much, but the message and the way they communicate is terrible.

Apparently they sold a LOT at 12.50 which means they were down 112 on every transaction.
ADSR aren't Sweetwater so a few thousand sales at that price is a hefty loss. Like 1000 sales would leave them 10 grand plus in the hole.
Don't get me wrong, I'm super annoyed by their screw up. It's beyond embarrassing for them.

It's nice that some people have sympathy for ADSR, and I don't doubt that they are on the hook for a hefty bill, but let's remember this is downloadable software with a crazy-high markup. iZotope likely recouped their development costs long ago, so anything they get for a Nectar license is pure profit.

I kinda went a bid mad on the Overloud GEMs. I had no idea how good they were. The upside is that I'm getting farther away from Waves. Better products imho and better company. Actually the amount I've spent on GEMs is probably less that updating WUP at this point (which brings very little to the table).

Actually I use IK Multimedia comps (T-Racks) but I really like the Gems comps sound
