How To Fix Missing Waveforms in Waveform 12

After working on Waveform 12 FREE (Windows 10, 12GB RAM) for a few weeks, I found that many of the waveforms have disappeared from my tracks one fine morning. The audio is, however, audible. I had faced this problem in earlier versions of Tracktion, and I could get the waveforms to reappear by slightly nudging a few points on the automation curve, or by deleting and reinstalling clip effects. It was very exasperating then. I assumed I would not have to face this glitch again, but alas! This time it is worse. I am unable to get the waveforms back at all. One workaround is to render the audio, which I did, but why should waveforms disappear at all? A rendered track is not the same as the original series of clips that I can manipulate the way I want. Anyway, I restarted the laptop, tried disabling/enabling "Show Waveforms" (Settings->Appearance-> Clips) several times, but that has not brought back the waveforms.

Desperately looking for a solution. Please help.

I had it so that after failures, everything that was on the tracks disappeared. The project I was working on turned out to be almost empty. Restoring from autosave helped. Of course, some of the work done is lost, but this is the best that can be done. (Wf12pro)

Oh ho. So this is not that uncommon with Waveform. It is so frustrating. I wonder why they haven't fixed it yet?

Found one workaround.
I created a copy of the Edit (Projects tab->'Create a Copy'). The new Edit regenerated the waveforms, although it took a while to do so. The old Edit, however, remained the same with the missing waveforms. Anyway, some relief!

This problem has existed before. But in version 12.1.8 this error does not appear.

Thanks nowgad. I have version 12.1.8, but the error seems to have have creeped in somehow.
