7 years later, did you work it out?
I'm shedding on Deadmau5's Delay / reverb techniques at the moment.
In your example I'd guess he"s using something like Valhalla delay and automating the diffusion & size knobs from a reverb to a delay.
Deadmau5 sound design is the best in electronic music IMO.

Yes, it is just an offset ping pong delay, quite possibly, like I am 99.9999999% sure it is Ableton ping pong delay with offset set to -0.5-1 or something, and Ableton reverb inserted before. Mix parameter automated on both presumably. There was no Valhalla Delay back then. You can use any ping pong delay for this just offset the time.
Only Soundtoys Echoboy and PrimalTap sounds like Ableton ping pong delay in terms of left right timing divison, in case you have a different daw and you have these plugins. All the other ping pong delays I have tried inc Waves H-delay, Valhalla Delay, Replika XT etc sound different to it, especially when you listen to it in mono. I cannot explain what it is but you can definitely hear the difference, so it is somewhat galloping differently. Most people probably would not notice or care. So use any delay you like, offset the time, pull it early a little bit and automate.
I absolutely agree that he is untouchable, best in class. But if we are very critical, in terms of who is absolute class in synth / effect sound design, there is always Aphex Twin///
