Choikdoi wrote: Mon Dec 26, 2022 4:52 pm Can someone please let me know if it's possible to route MIDI sequencer / generator VSTs through the native FL Studio instruments? I remember trying in previous versions and not being able to, is this something that's been implemented yet?
Native generators don´t have the wrapper settings like 3rd party plugins have...

You have to use Patcher instead...

Put the native generator into Patcher > right click "From FL Studio" > activate the Midi port you have set the midi plugin to...
Patcher 1.jpg
Disconnect the connection from "Notes" and route the new dot instead
Patcher 2.jpg
or host both in Patcher (don´t forget to set any Midi port in the midi plugin nonetheless)

Hey Trancit. I tried both ways but I can't seem to get it to work still. Would you mind having a look at what I did and let me know if I did anything wrong or missed something? Please.

Until forever fades away.

Very easy from what I´ve seen... your Riffer is completely empty!!

You have first let it create some notes before you can hear something!

It's not empty, if you look at 00:34 & 1:09, there are notes across the entire row for note C3. It's just the way it loads up because I'd used 'add plugin to database' in that state.

Even if I recreate that setup and draw in different notes, it still doesn't play. Or if I use other MIDI generators besides Riffer. But, with the same routing in Patcher, as soon as I switch PoiZone to a non-native VST, it works.

I can only say here it works exactly as it should:

If I bought FL Studio Producer Edition would I be able to install and run all the plugins I bought like Harmor that no longer exist as VST on Mac?

Post

OK, so... I tried it with other native VSTs (sorry, I should have done that earlier today but I was in a rush) and it works actually. It's only PoiZone that it doesn't work with, for some reason.

Just my luck that was the only one I wanted to use it for! Strange, I wonder what the difference is with that VST. I guess I should check with FL support.

Thanks for showing me the method though!

Is it possible to set colors for the DAW now? wow!

Yes. You can run those as native plugins in FL Studio (and optionally FL Studio as a plugin).

At some point in the future Harmor should be available again as a VST on Mac.

You´re welcome!

Glad you sorted it out... at least a bit... :tu:

Thanks I'm trying to decide if it is worth it though - I wish there was a cheaper version that just ran their plugins like Reason's rack, I hate the sequencer etc anyway but just love the sound design aspects of Harmor in particular.

apoclypse wrote: Thu Dec 08, 2022 12:19 pm That’s not a double standard. Theming is feature. What people are suggesting here is to fundamentally change how the application works and has worked since it was created. That’s like buying S1 and complaining that it isn’t Ableton. Well it isn’t meant to be Ableton. It has a different focus.

....
Sorry but that´s nonsense...
Changing the looks because you don´t like the GUI is not different than having optional partly a different workflow because you have something better to do with your time than menu diving to make 10000 bits unique and this hasn´t to do anything about making it work like a different DAW... it´s just about simplifying and getting rid of tons of actually unnecessay clicks...

I cannot count the endless times when I forgot to make this f*cking clip unique (no matter if Pattern/Automation or Audio) before changing it...having to undo every change after noticing, making unique and doing the whole work again!
And I cannot even imagine how many users this happens on a daily base...
Very appealing workflow... the more often you do something...the more it trains your skills! :tu:

FL Studio´s essence is not in having to make something unique all day long... and the change could be quite easy but get´s refused since the beginning...

Every DAW which has a shared/linked copy feature has a modifier key to do so on the fly...
...i.e. in a normal DAW CTRL+ left drag to make a unique copy...CTRL+ALT drag to make a shared/linked copy... easy peasy...

Why isn´t that possible in FLS???
Shift+ left drag for a shared/linked copy ... CTRL+Shift left drag to make a unique copy...
Or at least a shortcut for making something unique...
Even as they implemented the new make unique command into the playlist menu... no shortcut!
You hit the nail on the head about make unique. I like shared copies but not always, and if that is the default behaviour then it should be easier than clicking a tiny button in the left-top corner of the clip and then navigating a tiny menu. It really feels like I'm threading a needle. I have a similar problem with snap, which doesn't snap to the grid, it only snaps by the grid size but relative to the original position of the clip or note. In Ableton Live both relative and absolute snap are possible, without modifier keys or anything. And the Line and Cell snap settings are not properly implemented, there is no need for two if they had been properly implemented. I already posted about this at great length over at IL forums, years ago. I know they have a huge to-do list but these are easy to implement as no GUI modifications would be required, and yet it's always the complex stuff that gets done first. The quality-of-life workflow improvements never get any attention.

You can get Harmor as VST and use it in any DAW.

Not for a long time (and on Mac they were never released except as alphas)
