Question about Zebra multistages

It seems like the multistages are reset for every note on, rather than running freely in sync with the host (as I would prefer). I have no problem with the syncing, it's just that I have to sustain a note in order for them to cycle through the whole pattern.

But I have this, perhaps false memory, maybe wishful thinking about this working at one time.

I'm hoping that this one is user error...is there some way of setting up the the multistages so that they will simply sync up to the host and not require you to sustain a note to run through the entire sequence?

Nope, they are indeed triggered with every note. However, as this comes up every now and then I'll try my best to add a global mode for Zebra2...

Oh - please do this---I think that it would make these far more useful. And, of course, while you're at it, enable them to send MIDI out also :)

Just make it a polyphonic legato mode (or good old 'single trigger' if you want so).

I would love to send Midi, but the specs for that are still under discussion... :cry:

Please excuse my dumbness, what does 'single trigger' in a polyphonic environment mean exactly? Is that like, first note pressed triggers it, other notes played later don't, until all keys are lifted?

Exactly. On the Oberheim Matrix synths for example it was possible to set each envelope independently to single trigger or multiple trigger, no matter if monophonic or polyphonic sound. Great for playing.

However, on the Waldorf Wave they managed to implement a polyphonic portamento that detects quite "intelligently" which notes to slide to which other notes. Don't ask me about the algorithm or the logic behind it.
In the same way it should be possible to have a polyphonic legato mode where you wouldn't have to release all keys to retrigger the envelopes, but just some keys (again don't ask me about the logic it would have to apply to).

Another great way is to make it velocity dependent, like high velocities retrigger, low velocities don't. With rhythmic multistage envelopes that's a great way to get rhythmic variations on held chords for example.
